"A 2021 study [...] found that narcissism among U.S. college students increased from 1982 to 2009—then started declining and continued to do so through 2016" <-- there's a potential "why is Gen X so MAGA?" answer.
...whoa.
In his book On Writing, Stephen King discourages switching up dialogue tags too much (he references the whole "'I'm coming!' Tom ejaculated" thing) and talks about how "said" just sort of fades into the background in the reader's mind, but audiobooks change that math.
"There's no ethical consumption under capitalism" is a very old axiom. You just have to make your choices where you can.
Tech CEOs are the only people on Earth who wouldn't resent reporting to an AI instead of a human.
Corporations are seriously underestimating the visceral response humans will have to reporting to an AI manager. There's a reason we haven't gone pilot-less for passenger flights even thought we could.

I was born in 1978, I consider myself more a young Gen-Xer than an elder Millennial, and the popular presidency I experienced was Bill Clinton's (along with a roaring economy).
And meanwhile One Piece out here showing how it's done.
I mean, I'm willing to believe the demographics data that suggests our cohort is the most heavily MAGA. But that doesn't mean there aren't lots of people like me who would like to see most of the people in this admin in prison.
Yeah, that one is pretty close, admittedly. That said, what I'd really like to see is something a bit more realistic, personally.
Has there ever been a good, fully-articulated action figure of Link as he looked in the original Zelda? Or even Zelda II? There are all the Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword and BOTK figures, but I just want a basic classic Link.
Panel from Superman #241, "The Shape of Fear!" Written by Denny O'Neil, pencils by Curt Swan, inks by Murphy Anderson. Superman appears to be in a huff, flying away from a skyscraper. SUPERMAN: Don't talk to me ANY MORE! I don't want to HEAR your stupidities!

If you would like to show your support to the family at this difficult time, you can contribute to the GoFundMe that will cover the medical bills and daily needs of his wife and children here gofund.me/18aae2c12
Devastated to hear of @williambwest.bsky.social's passing this weekend. He had a stroke a couple of months ago and never recovered. I always enjoyed my interactions with him - he was smart, funny, and a true lover of all things geeky. He was far, far too young.
I don't know who we're subtweeting here but I'm definitely interested in it.
This is my guess, otherwise the Streisand effect here is epically self-inflicted

Plastic Meatball's wave 2 of Labyrinth figures are up! I'm so excited a company is making more characters than just Jareth (though I'd take all of those I can get, of course.) Ludo is coming later this year. plasticmeatball.com/collections/...

Honestly 100% of the time that someone says "a bridge too far" I think of ol' Raphael and this comment.
Don't you mean a fridge too far
I've got a "Nice Berg" in my office. They're neat.
Honestly, early videogame art deserves its own museum too.
This is literally what's going on in the current Skybound Joe comics I think
