Sir Keir Starmer has been specifically named in a UN report for complicity in Israel's genocide.
The report states that the UK government played "a key role in military collaboration with Israel... a collective crime... with detailed knowledge and cooperation in the destruction of Gaza." 🧵
Emergency Protest. No invasion of Gaza. Ceasefire now. 6pm, Friday 22nd August. Israeli Embassy - London Bring your pots and pans.
Thought I should share this emergency protest and urge you followers to go on it.
Not sure about this article. On the one hand strong lines calling the government a people trafficker. On the other argues for giving up on confronting fascists where they march openly in the streets... If we don't stand up to them they turn into lynch mobs! morningstaronline.co.uk/article/stra...
I see the more of the truth is coming out about Rotherham. That no, in fact the police weren't afraid of being racist but were rather knee-deep in the conspiracy, abusing kids, selling drugs and who knows what else. The media more than happy to aid the police and pin the blame on brown people.
Why is everyone confident Reform would govern for just one term rather than bring in outright fascism in the UK for god knows how long?
Interview starts at 5 minutes 30 seconds in.
Anyway, what'd he do now?
At the height of the smear he didn't push back. Here's a video of a TV interview with Andrew Neil for your enjoyment.
Enjoyed Eleanor Janega and Jeremy Gilbert's on the Culture, Power and Politics podcast with expertise about actual medieval history, asking "What’s Feudal About ‘Technofeudalism’?"
Not exactly pithy in length but very approachable. Entertaining destruction!

'loopy' and 'nutty' are perhaps more sympathetic terms than the contemporary psychiatric terms... They seem to get at what can go awry in a mind, turning into small minded circles.
An aside, I don't know how I feel about the term 'nutters'. There are so many good comrades with serious mental health history who may be quietly turned off by this! There is something to get at here, a judgement people make. 'Fanatic' you might say instead? But on the other hand..
Interesting take! I expect the biggest tendency in the new party will just be democratic socialists, not actually wedded to ending capitalism but certain Starmer's Labour is rotten beyond return. Groups that take a harder line will struggle for influence
"Trots! Tankies! Reformists! Ultra-leftists! Over time, we may find co-habitation in the same alliance to be tolerable enough to become members of the same mass-membership party."
"Having a broad democratic front of the left will mean being in alliance with people you think are nutters or bastards, people whose organisation you may have once been in and now hate with a passion – or whose political tradition you have always found detestable."
another one by the same guy, about a group of radical students who become bottom-feeding hacks in the New Labour machine. its really fun youtu.be/gzO5Re9nwlo?...
Join movements and thousands of people around the world in rejecting Baerbock's presidency of the UN General Assembly.
Agree about immigration of course
Don't think we can win that way. Socialist internationalism is hard enough without splitting the base. Or is the EU more important to you? Maybe a referendum later if there really is consistent majority public demand for one, but I don't reckon it's what the party is about. youtu.be/Ef9QnZVpVd8?...
Tragic maybe. Some thought it funny when Democrats lost to Trump again this time. It is short lived
A nice animated picture of Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana with a crowd of protesters with a 'Hands off Gaza' sign, and a couple Palestine flags in the background. With the text "New Party!". "So we can come together seriously, get our money back off corrupt capitalists, make peace. Win justice."

Reckon the social network of activists involved in discussions with the MPs should start at least consulting enthusiastic supporters and donors now, if not open a forum. Don't lose the momentum. I liked Ken Loach's suggestion of regional conferences electing delegates ahead of a central conference.
“What power have you got?”
“Where did you get it from?”
“In whose interests do you use it?”
“To whom are you accountable?”
“How do we get rid of you?”
Overlaid on an image of Tony Benn with his pipe, the text “What power have you got?” “Where did you get it from?” “In whose interests do you use it?” “To whom are you accountable?” “How do we get rid of you?”
In the founding of the new left party in the UK I reckon we'd do well to remember these questions about party officers, delegates, candidates and staff, and ensure the constitution has good answers... #ZarahSultana #JeremyCorbyn #Socialism
Interesting little thread. I think whatever party gets trade union affiliation will be the one to back. And I wonder how an electoral pact would work... Whichever party's candidate is ahead in polling in the constituency, a few months ahead of the election, the other pulls out?
Screenshot of PMQs with Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana looking perhaps with some contempt after Nigel Farage's garbage
Good to see
It's a good effort but lots of mistakes. At least it's not Paul Mason's substack piece, seething with hatred and warmongering and seeing Stalinists everywhere
What else? Something a bit clause IV, pro industry, anti-capitalism. Something on believing in human made climate change, the need to achieve net zero and safe levels of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. Something solid on respecting the LGBTQIA+. Respect for refugees, advance the right to migrate..
We refuse to be divided by constitutional decisions about the country. We focus on winning socialism in whatever terrain. Whether have Scottish independence or rejoin the EU, we let the public decide: When all signs show clear majority support for a referendum we'll back it, but won't pick sides.
