Been there, bit that... :)
Well, not your THAT, you know... bit mine... :)

It wasn't just to add color, but also to make the ships stand out against an otherwise black background, since they were trying to light things somewhat naturally... if a ship didn't have it's own on-board lighting, the nebulas made them pop more...
Heather making her cherry brownie swirl dessert that everyone likes…
Heather's cherry brownie swirl, fresh from the oven...
Heather makes this cherry brownie thing which mixes brownie batter, cream cheese brownie batter, and cherries that's just divine... luckily for my waistline, she saves it for major holidays or big parties...
I don't know what you'd technically classify it as, other than GOOD. :)
We have crumbles too, but they're a little different... cobblers tend to have a bottom crust underneath the filling, but crumbles (in my experience) usually don't - but both have some kind of crumbly top layer, but a cobbler is usually made from the same dough, kinda biscuity...
We both stared at each other for a moment.
Both looked at the gun.
Then at each other.
And both dove for the gun, quickly improvising a silly slapfight over the gun.
At the end, I triumphantly exclaimed "And no more tricks!" as the script called for.
Early massive applause for that moment. :)
Years ago, I was playing Von Bruno in a local production of Bullshot Crummond - towards the end, after a swordfight with Crummond, I was supposed to pull a gun on him.
I was a bit sweaty from the fight, and the gun flew out of my hand, barely missed his head, and bounced off the far wall.
Traditional peach cobbler, with a scoop of ice cream on top
I was expecting something more like this...
It wasn't bad, IIRC - but it's NOT a cobbler... :)
A thread about "worst food" from various cuisines made me remember this "cobbler" I was served at a convention in Phoenix years ago...
Their definition of "peach cobbler" and mine are from different planets...
Not necessarily *bad*, but our group still makes jokes about the abbreviations the California Pizza Kitchen in Burbank used on their receipts, as the PORTBLOMUSHPIE sounds a *lot* worse than the portobello mushroom pizza a friend actually ordered...
Apparently Schulz just liked dropping references to it into the strip - those weren't the first, and not nearly the last...

I *immediately* thought of you when I first saw the original post... :)
Surprised fans didn't burn the station down... :)
However - I discovered *that* fact myself before the movie came out, as the novelization came out in April that year - I was reading it on a field trip when I got to that certain moment, and got in trouble for shouting "HOLY SHIT!" on the bus...
Or in later years, “Luke, I am your father”, or various famous spoilery character deaths…
That was what, 1973? I was six - all I knew was Lucy was being an asshole to Linus, I didn’t know the significance of it yet… but it rattled around in my brain, waiting, like so many random pop culture moments do for many people, like “I am Spartacus”, or “Frankly, Scarlet, I don’t give a damn.”
Schulz spoiled the “Rosebud” reveal from Citizen Kane for me - I didn’t see the film until college, but I knew the twist because there was a Sunday strip in the early 70s where Lucy dropped the spoiler on Linus…
I kinda want one for my MR Enterprise, now… 😇
I *still* can’t fucking believe it… 🤬
C’mon, now, surely Tim Curry also gets a pass… :)
I saw a review on Ebert today that was less than complimentary…
Bring it on…
Isn’t Buck Rogers public domain now? Granted, the 70s version of the show wouldn’t be, but the core concept should be open game now…
Check out a first look at Disney’s ASL re-animated songs from 'Encanto,' 'Frozen 2,' and 'Moana 2,' coming to Disney+ next week. The studio reworks key musical sequences using performance-driven signing.

Grab your marbles, they did it. Some crazy SOBs really did it.
A Polling Place Story I'd like to apologize to a woman I met in line while waiting to vote yesterday. I'm sorry you took offense when I politely whispered to you that the campaign clothes you dressed your children in wouldn't be allowed into the polling place. I'm sorry you took it upon yourself to scream back at me about "restricting your First Amendment rights". I'm sorry you instantly felt the need to loudly insult and denigrate me further to anyone who would listen to you. I'm sorry your children had to witness such a poor example of how to deal with others. I'm sorry you used them as your political pawns. I'm especially sorry that you believe this to be acceptable behavior. I'm sorry you have a poor understanding of Tennessee state law, which specifically prohibits campaign clothes inside the polling area. I'm sorry that, when informed by poll workers that you would actually have to cover up your children's campaign clothes, you didn't have the decency to admit that you were wrong, but continued to blame me. And finally, I'm sorry that it was all for naught. Your candidate still lost. I'm NOT sorry about that.
It was back in 2008 - did some digging, found were I'd saved it on FB... :)
Yes - got published, too...
Absolutely incredible.
NASA Astronaut Reid Wiseman, who commanded Artemis II, took this footage from the far side of the Moon with his iPhone.
Watch with sound on.

A can of Hormel's Mary Kitchen "Southwest Style Skillet" hash
Now granted, I cook the stuff out of a can at home myself every once in a while, but I make sure mine is fried up a LOT crispier, as I don't much care for it mushy...
Found this one the other day, hadn't seen it before, planning on frying it up sometime this week....
