I think it's quite doable, this one! C, Fmaj7 and Em pretty much all the way through I think! The others will have far better ears than me so will correct if necessary!

The one CD my kids always want played in the car is their mutual fave, the 1st Black Grape LP. Just been driving between garden centres. It’s SO good.
I often rant about what a great guitar player Mark Day was in the Mondays, but Wags’ work is so good with Black Grape. That funky Stones lilt. Ace
Week 20 of my radio show! Tomorrow’s episode features @thesuncharms.bsky.social, @eggsonmars.bsky.social, The Fall, Radhika, @durutti74.bsky.social & The Pillars of Creation.

Sunday, 7pm on untidyradio.com
I had a lovely chat with Andrew the other night, so consider this request logged, processed and addressed!
Also the best example of my being self-indulgent in days. Or minutes.
Yes!! You’ve got the job!
Very good point! The caves are lovely - a deep network of caves in the south of France absolutely covered in extraordinary cave paintings. It’s like the paintings have just been poured across the rock, which is kind of how I feel the guitars relate to the drums. Maybe that’s my wording!
I am writing a review of a record and have spent forty minutes trying to figure out how to say "this record sounds like the cave paintings at Rouffignac". I am not sure how or why, but wish me luck.
you shouldn’t learn about bands from shady TikTok manipulation, you should learn about bands by hanging out with a girl you like but are also extremely afraid of

A friends son has just been on BBC Midlands. He is going to dribble a ball from Africa to Rugeley to raise money for a local hospice.

Ha! I guessed correctly that The Slugs would be first up!
Hello and welcome to A-POP! Two hours of the BEST of this week's new music, now with added vim!
Just go to noiseboxradio.com to listen, and if you want to chat, we're over on Discord - go to noiseboxradio.com/discord for an invite!
I have that Vaselines/Rosslyns result down as a firm moral win for the principle that our beloved genre runs gloriously deep. Rosslyns forever!
This sounds v lovely, Wally! Listening now
Haha, I’ll happily do so as an apology for the discourtesy of spelling your name wrong!
Oh glad you enjoyed!! I think she’s really talented, can’t wait to hear the LP. And seeing her at the Betsy in June.
Hope all well at your end and you had a nice Easter x
I on the other hand will accept a pint whether I get the chance to buy one back or not. Outraged by Matt’s “only on my terms” response!
Great!!
Two more songs on #FreshIngredients tonight! The first is from the brilliant Falling & Laughing LP helmed by @duncautumnstore.bsky.social (LP highlight 'Daytrip to Doggerland') followed by the ace Bramwell debut single, 'Problems' (via @precrecs.bsky.social). Both ace
Sorry for playing Caravan! x x
Brilliant! Have heard great things!
Huge thanks to @shopfiresmusic.bsky.social for turning me on to the next band on #FreshIngredients - this is from the new LP by Twisted Teens (amongst lots of other great records). This is 'I Operate' from their new LP - fantastic short brutish stuff (a bit like life, etc)
The first time I have played Belle & Sebastian on the show - a song from Tigermilk that everyone likes - and have placed a song by the terminally unfashionable Caravan next to it. But I think they sound great side by side. Appreciate my indie-pop brief may have been temporarily discarded however.
I’m normally quite careful not to put too many self-indulgent personal faves into the show, but this one-two of Richard and Linda Thompson then The Blue Aeroplanes is about as good as music gets for me. ‘Wall of Death’ then ‘Jacket Hangs’.
“Back in to Ballina we steered
Tied up and stowed the gear
All hands headed for the pub
And we filled ourselves with beer
Oh, you trawler men, come on
Forget your snapper and your prawn
For it's out of Ballina we'll sail
Fishing for the humpback whale”
Next up on #FreshIngredients a track from the archive (recently exhumed!) by Scissor Fits. REALLY into this! For fans of Lou Reed and/or The Television Personalities. After that, a glorious song by Nic Jones ('The Humpback Whale), & then, Comet Gain ('Strength').
Next up, a new track from Brother of Monday and their new LP, World of Hair. Click here (intheaprilsun.substack.com/p/review-bro...) to read my review of their last LP! It was v good and the new one is equally great:
You might have just heard a few moments of a bandcamp curio by Dark Red Birds, and if you're listening to #FreshIngredients right now you're currently listening to Trainboy. Anne-Sophie sent me this saying she thought it sounded like Assistant!

Next up on #FreshIngredients, my favourite track from the wonderful new @shapeslikepeople.bsky.social LP. I attended a delightful listening party for it the other night and it is a beautiful record: it felt to me like a brilliant college-pop soundtrack to a late 80s/90s cult US film.
First song on #FreshIngredients tonight (after my now overfamiliar jingle) was one of the best songs played at @walesgoespop.bsky.social last week - Even As We Speak's wonderful 'Drown', which went down a storm. You can read my blog about their performance here if you like:
