This guy definitely bought nunchucks out of the back pages of Soldier of Fortune to impress his high-school girlfriend.

Palantir exec: "Do you know how many times 'Morgoth' has been shot down in the branding meetings? No one would even notice! We already got away with 'Palantir'!"

Anthropic exec, holding an H.P. Lovecraft anthology: "Watch this shit, bro."

Installed the app during the Oscars and deleted it as soon as they ended. I'll do the same next year.

Desktop is the only civilized way to use this website.

A dismal magazine.

Some folks see Avengers: Infinity War as the entry that characterized Thanos, adding the depth needed to support Endgame's grand finale. Wild to see the MCU's crown jewel frantically retooled into Doom's Infinity War in the wake of the Kang implosion.

Using Palantir's naming strategy, the subsidiary running this program would be called "Logan's Run."

Many of this guy's videos featured an old Magic: the Gathering mouse pad, the sort of incidental inclusion that made me think he played the game. A year or so goes by and I hear a familiar voice providing commentary for an M:tG pro tour match. I laughed when I made the connection.

Strange women dancing on stage distributing microphones is no basis for a system of stardom. Supreme pop power derives from a mandate from the masses not some fanciful rhythmic ceremony.

"If Vatel can ruin Louis XIV’s dinner by dying, then Vatel is too necessary for either the prince’s or the king’s honor to bear. The best servant can never be truly indispensable."

It's OK, just follow me. Move when I move and keep your head down.

In the battle against oxymorons, we lost the one against "audiobook." Victory against "video podcast" is still achievable.

I look forward to this one. Sam interviews people like an octopus opening a new jar. CR strikes me as a guy with a firm grip on the inside of the lid. Who will tire first?!

The damage to my bank account and marriage would be incalculable if I lived in Raleigh.

A few eager buds decorated the lilac walk during yesterday's walk through the NY Botanical Garden. Their horticulturists advise that the last week of April and first week of May will see the walk's peak.

Alex says "well, economy's fucked. Time to start camming." She asks herself "what's my niche?" She gets an idea. She has set up a sexual version of Cow Tools. Her friend says "I don't get it..."

Center Cinemas in Sunnyside, NY - Cinema Treasures Small neighborhood house has withstood the test of time. Originally opened as the Center Theater in 1940, it was twinned down the middle in the 198...

I found it: Center Cinemas on Queens Blvd close to 40th-Lowery.

I wish I could remember the name of it. I've never been back to it.

Maybe closer to 40th-52nd. Definitely after Queensboro Plaza and before Jackson Heights - Roosevelt.

Yeah. Maybe between 61st and 74th? It was just another storefront, basically. Have you been?

There was a theater somewhere on the 7 train back around 2008 that had this vibe. Trashed theaters, some down in a basement that definitely hosted illegal activity after hours. My buddy and I saw Punisher: War Zone and Rambo there and the vibes were immaculate.

A fine rant. I stumbled across the edges of this via this great photographer, Ming Thien. I constantly need to navigate between the Scylla and Charybdis of this sort of process knowledge and my artistic development. I made this same point to ol' Chris Nolan and he smiled.

Great artists who conquer and exhaust their chosen forms take this turn. Chest compressions, blowing into the mouth of self-conception, muttering, "C'mon! C'mon!"

Me: It's prudent to separate the two keys that open our small home safe just in case something happens accidentally.

Me later: There's definitely one key in the place I know to look.
