My latest, with @propublica.org + @nytimes.com:
An Oklahoma law was supposed to help reduce the sentences of domestic violence survivors who fought back -- women who are serving long sentences for killing their abusers. Why are nearly all of them still in prison?

In today's Businessweek Daily, @zekefaux.bsky.social took my prompt of "number go down?" and writes an actual explanation of Bitcoin's drop-off from the fall.
Some personal news, as they say: My first book, CATCH THE DEVIL, comes out July 14! I’m hugely grateful to @nytimes.com for naming it as one of the books everyone will be talking about in 2026.

we had two great guests this week on Everybody's Business. @justinwolfers.bsky.social on the shutdown, @zekefaux.bsky.social on crypto. SUBSCRIBE!! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/e...
For various reasons the audiobook of @zekefaux.bsky.social's "Number Go Up" is a regular wee-hours companion. I really enjoy his depictions of the various colourful characters in the 2021-2023 crypto scene—but then I'm occasionally shocked to be reminded that they're real people still doing stuff
Amazing to see the one bill this congress is actually going to pass is crypto

Photo of Zeke Faux's book, "Number Go Up." The cover has a blurb at the top ("Riveting, Horrifying, But Also Endlessly Entertaining," by Matt Levine, Money Stuff columnist); an illustration of a coin with Sam Bankman-Fried in profile, accompanied by the Latin words, "Nihil Valet"; and the subtitle, "Inside Crypto's Wild Rise and Staggering Fall."
When the first two lines are as great as this...
"I'm not going to lie," Sam Bankman-Fried told me.
This was a lie.
... it's no surprise the next 242 pages fly by.
To understand crypto—or to understand why there is no understanding crypto—you gotta read "Number Go Up," by @zekefaux.bsky.social.
Thanks a lot Ken!
