Screen shot of a letter to the editor in the newspaper, with the following text: Do your part to save Bay Area transit Re: “Rail future on shaky ground” (Page A1, Feb. 23). I rely on transit to get to work, visit my family, visit my friends and run errands. We have a wonderful transit system here in the Bay Area. It’s easy to critique the details, but I love that I can get where I need to go using just my Clipper Card and my own two feet, and that transit reduces traffic and keeps our air cleaner. The possible transit cuts are terrifying. I signed up as a volunteer to collect signatures for the ballot measure to keep our system strong and useful. It’s been good to see how many people in the community support transit and want to sign, and we need all the signatures we can get. If someone asks you to sign the petition for the ballot measure to the Public Transit Revenue Measure District, please do sign. Or better yet, join me as a volunteer. — Lisa Danz, San Francisco
