and at some point idk how much of that is that these kinds of animal escapes happen much more often than we think, and we only get to see them when the news report on it (and they only report on it if it does well in terms of audience clicks)… but…. I always find the repetition of stories crazy

last year i wrote a news story about an african tortoise that escaped its home in louisiana and wandered through a small town. and a month later there were 3 other stories in other news outlets about different african tortoises doing the same thing???

starting to think about how news stories always repeat themselves in variation when they’re crazy enough
