had a lot of textures and colours and grooves to them that I really responded to. So I tried to involve elements of that in the work. I also worked with a wonderful percussionist Morris Pert and ‘No Self Control’ would be one track, which integrated some of those things and a band sound as well."
'No Self Control', released in May 1980 was the second single from 'PG3'. This performance is from Top of the Pops.

"It's strange that Solsbury Hill is a single because at one point it wasn't even going to be on the album. I'm pleased with it, espeically from a "feel" point of view. It's got a kick time and that 7/4 rhythm works well because it feels like a normal rhythm but isn't quite right..."
'Solsbury Hill' - Peter's debut solo single - was released on this day in 1977. In April 1977, Peter did an interview with Sounds discussing the song...

I’ve described Youssou’s voice as “liquid gold” and I think when he comes in singing on that track it’s just a fantastic moment.
‘In Your Eyes’ was the first thing that I’d recorded with Youssou and it was very important for that reason. It was around the time I was going to Africa and really getting inspired by a lot of the music I was hearing there, particularly rhythmically and vocally.

'We have an artwork created by Tomás Saraceno and twelve spiders who are credited with authorship on this. I think he's a really interesting artist that I think a lot of you would enjoy learning more about. Tomás heard the music and chose this image as something that he thought was appropriate.'
