Prosecutors, down the marble staircase from Chief Clerk Jennifer Regan's office, transferred her petit larceny case to an Albany special prosecutor who agreed to an "ACOD" deal for 10 hours of community service. Absent a new arrest, the case will be dismissed & sealed in March.

I spoke to Chief Clerk Regan in her Schenectady courthouse hallway and asked about the alleged theft.
She immediately moved the interview into a filing closet out of earshot of nearby court staff:
Chief Clerk Regan allegedly stole "multiple pieces of women's clothing, groceries, and pet food" totaling somewhere between $180-$190 (police and court filings differ).
