I guess my algos have had me dialed into it. I've been hearing/reading about it for almost a decade. Depending on how it's applied it can be a good thing. e.g. habit-forming/tracking apps, but we're now seeing the intersection with enshittification and that's where the problem lies imo.

It kinda baffles me that people are still discovering the harmful effects of gamification in social apps.

This is all happening so quick. Same with OpenAI pausing other projects. Can you imagine if they completely collapsed, and we all got reasonably priced RAM and GPUs in 2026?! 🤯

An original social media post opining about the monetary value of Banksy's work going down now that he's been outed as a middle-aged man, with a reply pointing out that he's been doing this since the 90s so of course he's a middle-aged man.

People opining about the monetary value of Banksy artwork after he was outed (again, this time) by Reuters have missed the entire point of his work and are partly the reason why he did it in the first place.

This is for comic book covers specifically, the pricing won't really apply to novel-type books (which is typically a lot higher). It's critical to have these kinds of conversations so good on Marie for getting it going!

IMO, what this really means is that some "AI bro" recognized they didn't create a thing, thought they were clever and could game the system as bros do, and got shut down by a lower court and SCOTUS wouldn't hear otherwise. The language of the ruling is vague. Artists have a long fight ahead on this
