I’m very proud of this work and our efforts to make albuminuria evaluation and management accessible to primary care clinicians. Thank you to @ashunephro.bsky.social and our co-authors for the mentorship, and to the @bmj.com for supporting our work!
Low rates of testing could mean that up to two thirds of people at risk for chronic kidney disease may have unrecognised albuminuria.
What should doctors know about interpretation, treatment, & follow-up?

Learned quite a lot about interactions, thresholds, and synergistic effects from @ashunephro.bsky.social in this analysis of albuminuria, heart failure, and CKD progression. Our findings emphasize albuminuria as a key biomarker for CKM health. 🫘

Delighted to share our study published in @jaccjournals.bsky.social led by @sophieclaudel.bsky.social. We demonstrated deleterious synergy between albuminuria and heart failure as risk factors for CKD progression.

Excited to share this research letter looking at albuminuria values in healthy adults! We followed IFCC guidelines for establishing references ranges, which had not previously been shown in the literature, and consider what “normal” should be by sex.
We sought to quantify the upper limit of normal for albuminuria among US adults by the IFCC standard. Our study led by @sophieclaudel.bsky.social “Albuminuria References Ranges in Healthy US Adults”
