BBC News is going very hard on its investigation into advisers who help people ‘fake’ asylum claims, focusing especially on people who falsely claim to be gay. But it doesn’t say what percentage of claims are made on the basis of sexuality. As of 2023 — the last available figures — it was 3%.
Those US-Iran negotiations in a nutshell:
Iran sent 4 PhDs to Islamabad.
The US sent a real estate developer, a son-in-law, a lawyer and a general.
I’d have gone with “have a great Easter everyone”.
Agree!
This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.

I'm reminded of one of the conclusions in my biography of King John: 'He set about needlessly provoking people when he felt strong, then desperately trying to win them back when his confidence had evaporated.'
Stupid stupid football.
It’s the weekend! The sun is shining! There are only 20 days to go until the start of the cricket season and the return of the glorious, incomparable, irreplaceable County Championship!
KILMEADE: When will know the war is over?
TRUMP: When I feel it. I gotta feel it in my bones.
Thanks!
I have not. Will have a look.
The history of food would be such a good GCSE unit.

Amazing result for New Zealand in the cricket - absolutely destroying the favourites South Africa. Can England do something similar tomorrow and create a rerun of the 2019 World Cup Final? Then all we need is a Super Over... #cricket
