Spider watch 2025: I found a cross orb weaver near my front entryway this morning. Can my little friend stay safely or will the 50% of my household that thinks spiders are scary notice my free pest control friend and interfere? More importantly, will I remember to follow up?

We get a lot of spiders at my house. These are cross orb weavers, or Araneus diadematus. They’re totally harmless (unless you’re insect prey) and make beautiful webs. The colors can range from light tan to dark brown but all have a white cross shape on their back.
I came here to be pedantic and say that’s not a ferret but you won me over with the rhyme! (Maybe possum toupee could be an alternative though? Doesn’t rhyme but flows well?)

Why am I not surprised?
I’ve been pregnant twice and have two children. I’m adamantly pro-choice. Not my pregnancy, not my business. It’s not difficult.
I’m lucky and live in a state where abortion is very accessible. If that were to change I wonder how one would learn to provide camping services to those in need?
If we get it disguised in a burger box and serve while distraction occurs and a girl and dream right?
I say girl because I’m almost 50 going on 15….

I was a few courses away from a minor in Chemistry so despite the 5 page recipe it’s surprisingly easy.
I’ll make sure they have shoes and a jacket near the door. Then again with the velociraptor…I mean dog…we recently adopted keeping those things in the closet by the door makes sense.
Some of us deserved to know more about him tho.
