Over in Dronfield in North East Derbyshire the town council are firmly aligned with the NIMBYs, turning down an application for a Junior parkrun because of noise concerns. The sound of children enjoying themselves in a public park is just too much for them.

Allowing a politician to routinely pardon criminals is banana republic behaviour. If you have a problem with unsafe convictions address the causes of that, but pardons or remission should be exceptional acts.
