"It's not that I'm lazy, I just don't even care"
A cult classic - Office Space (one of my personal favourite films of all time) is an inspirational story of a man who gets bored of the daily grind, admits to doing nothing at work - and gets promoted!

Howard The Duck was meant to be a big sci-fi adventure - but it was a massive flop.
This video retrospective looks at why it failed, why it's not all George Lucas' fault ...and why it's worth a watch.

MONSTERS ASSEMBLE!
In 'Destroy All Monsters' various Kaiju from across the Toho cinematic universe get together in this cross-over film which was meant to be Godzilla's last movie.

"Ker-ching!"
The Star Wars figures were a huge hit for Kenner. Sadly that wasn't good for Mattel who turned down the offer to make them.
Mattel's answer? ....The Masters Of The Universe!

Settling down with Clementine to stick a film on. My cat *loves* a 4K Blu-Ray classic! ...She's got taste.
Spend 35 seconds of your time watching this - if it floats ya boat then you should seriously consider subscribing to the PopSmash Youtube channel!

Karg didn't get his own action figure when the 1987 'Masters Of The Universe' movie came out.
With that magnificent hair, Mattel missed a trick there....

Well holy shitballs! It's great to know that there are plenty of pop-culture and film geeks out there. 1000 subscribers to my Youtube channel dedicated to such things is amazing, I love you all lots.
And thank again for any comments, etc - it's all appreciated.

Masters of the Universe (1987) was a flop, this retrospective asks why - & also contains:
- Courtney Cox in terrible nightwear
- A suggested addition to Mattel's Barbie range
- And fixing some scenes using unimpressive, ultra-low tech visual effects

MASSIVE thanks to everyone who has watched any of my pop-culture retrospective videos.
400 subscribers might be tiny compared to most, but I'm humbled that people take time to watch them
So thanks again, you beautiful bastards.

The 1967 film 'Son of Godzilla' is best known for having some of the least popular Godzilla suits of the entire franchise.

K-Pop Demon Hunters isn't what I'd usually go for.
I was expecting derivative crap...
But that’s not what Kpop Demon Hunters is - it’s a well written, well crafted film. And it's original - it's not a sequel, or wringing out the dregs of an already bled-dry cinematic universe

He ain't the prettiest Godzilla, but he's perhaps not the worse one in the film!

"It really isn't that bad - and has some moments worth celebrating"
It also has one of the *BEST* creature creations in all of Godzilla.

28 Days Later - the film which breathed new life into Zombies in modern culture...
It's an example of excellent film making. Boyle's choice to use a digital camera back around 2001 has resulted in a lo-res film, but that unique look enhances the film.

You are very kind, thank you.
Thank you too all who have subscribed to my Youtube channel dedicated to reviewing pop-culture gems - usually Kaiju films, B-movies, & genre titles.
I know 300 isn't a lot for a Youtube channel, but I'm honestly humbled that some people take the time to watch them.

In my retrospective of "28 Days Later" I look at the camera choice (1990s digital camera) and my concerns over a 4K release. It may be lo-res and and dirty - but it's beautiful BECAUSE of that!
In Boyle we trust!
My retrospective here: youtu.be/ixFb-Svesm4
A directing masterclass, the more I watch this the more I appreciate Danny Boyle's creative choices. The film is beautifully shot and Boyle demonstrates that artistry counts for more than big budgets and the best tech.

I surprise myself at how many of my thoughts and conversations start with "in the event of a zombie apocalypse I'd...".
I'm almost wishing it to happen now!
This is on my ever expanding watchlist!
This is a great piece of art, love the colours!
Godzilla gets involved in an espionage romp in Ebirah, Horror of the Deep.
In this retrospective I look at how Godzilla was a replacement for King Kong who was meant to feature in this film. Is Ebiraha decent foe? or just a massive prawn/lobster thing?
youtu.be/aBLuP79b8-M
Yeah, the main problem is that it follows a piece of landmark cinema which works brilliantly as a standalone movie. It was never going to compare favourably, but it still deserves some love!
The destruction of Osaka castle, mass evacuations, and one of the BEST visual effects sequence of *any* of the Godzilla movies.
Godzilla Raids Again (1955) seems to be the ignored sequel - but it has so much to offer.
