Wait it out. It’s only a matter of time until you can do the same stupid thing for even less $$$

And I’m not versed in how the police use the system. Maybe they want it bc it’s an easy way to meet quotas or harass folks who aren’t up to snuff. Regardless, there’s an irony in the folks who claim they “back the blue” actively not “backing the blue.”

It’s mostly making sure tires, seat belts, and brakes are up to snuff. The Tribune notes the below study in support of them, but tbh the good intentions behind the inspections are probably weighed down in some needless bureaucratic BS, but maybe it’s a small price to pay for the times it works?

Texas is getting rid of vehicle safety inspections.

Police orgs spoke against the bill.

Multiple conservatives and conservative groups still supported its passing.

The folks that claim to “back the blue” sure had no trouble showing their backs to the blue.

I've been warning about this for a while. Sooner than you think U.S. economists may have to go Argentine, cobbling together alternative estimates of inflation, employment and so on because the official data have been corrupted.

I’m absolutely convinced the design of the current Chrysler Pacifica was originally intended for use on a stillborn replacement to the Grand Caravan/Dodge-badged Pacifica variant

Can’t stress enough if you plan to attend a protests, turn your phone off miles from the site & don’t turn it back on until you’re miles away. Go ahead and buy a faraday bag. It’s not crazy.

Idk if such logic can get through to them, but it seems to accomplish their goal of cutting spending w/o completely upending the growing domestic EV industry

From a purely pragmatic lens …

The admin can cut gov spending on EV incentives (so it can transfer the $ to the wealthy via tax cuts)—and keep job creators in the space incentivized to invest domestically—by limiting the lease cred to EVs that qualify for the the full/partial cred when purchased
