I would like someone (not me) to teach all of my students the difference between "a screenshot" and "a photograph of the computer screen"

I think there is no magic path to reminding; I think you just have to teach it fresh as if they've never learned it before (which I think they mostly haven't). I have had success in making people write out, like, 🐻³ * 🐻², etc.

Oh I have been dealing with this so much this year. Do you know why I think it is? I think it is bc these people were in 7th or 8th grade when lockdown hit and guess when we teach exponent rules

I am also wary of the dangers of AI, especially with regard to education. But I am not partnering with the largest AI tech companies in order for them to help infuse their tools into my classes, so I guess that's where the differences between us start.

I love the idea of these ai commercials with the very casual prompts. "Hey, what's the status of my workflow?" Imagine what kind of absolute loser you have to be to (a) use ai and then further (b) think it's cool to be All Casual With It. "Sup, computer, how we doin? You finish my homework for me?"
