In redistricting fight, Democrats did what Republicans didn’t expect: Fight back (and win) Last year, Donald Trump and his allies launched a partisan redistricting arms race. They apparently weren’t prepared for the Democratic response.

Republicans threw the first punch. Now they're surprised and outraged that the Democrats punched back. Is it arrogance? Raw stupidity? Addiction to miscalculation? Inability to foresee blowback? All of the above.

Not "arrested." Kidnapped.

It is crony extractionism, sucking up all the money to the overlords in the clouds, leaving nothing for the little strugglers on the ground. Fouling the land, water and ar. For what? Is this how we define "progress?"

Live updates: Trump says talks will resume as standoff escalates over Strait of Hormuz President Donald Trump said U.S. negotiators will be in Pakistan on Monday for round two of talks with Iran as tensions rise over passage in the Strait of Hormuz.

A fascinating development in that the Iranians won't be there. Maybe the American negotiators will have a jolly pep talk among themselves. Or maybe - like Trump - they will happily converse with imaginary people who tell them exactly what they want to hear.

He's right. Participation could well be seen as tacit endorsement of the forward march of American fascism. Have always been bothered by these chummy affairs. They are designed to subtly undermine independence of the truith-telling free press.

This tariff-refund portal is about to be America's hottest website Exactly two months after the Supreme Court struck down most of President Trump's tariffs, the U.S. government has set Monday as the day when some companies can begin requesting refunds.

This is designed to work so poorly as to discourage people from even seeking a refund. The only way you will ever get your money back is if the Dems take control of Congress in the fall.

Poll: Trump's approval rating hits second-term low as Americans sour on the economy and Iran war Two-thirds of Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of inflation, according to an NBC News Decision Desk Poll, with some cracks emerging in his GOP support.

Stop kldding ourselves. It's not even this high. The only ones still clapping are the hopelessly corrupt and the walking brain dead.

In all but name the pope called out Trump as a war mongerer and vicious autocrat. He also assailed the Republican Party for falsely claiming divine sponsorship of its march toward fascism. A breakthrough moment of the kind I've been awaiting since I left the church in 1972.

Tariff refunds unlikely to benefit consumers, CNBC CFO Council survey finds Although the government could pay billions of dollars in tariff refunds, consumers shouldn't expect to see money back, according to a CNBC CFO Council survey.

The regime has no plans to pay back consumers the $billions we were scammed by tariff-related pass-through price shocks. All Republican legislators everywhere are complicit. Remember that the next time you vote! The GOP picked your pocket. Will you play the rube and let them get away with it?

As Vance rallies with Turning Point, some supporters bristle at Trump's war, memes and feuds Vice President JD Vance used a Turning Point USA event to defend President Donald Trump’s aggression in Iran and play down the resulting tensions between Washington and the Vatican.

Ex supporters increasingly scorn him as a damagogue. But what the eff took so long? Millions of us knew it from the get-go, all the while ridiculed as victims of "Trump derangement syndrome." Not any more.

As a young journalist I soon learned that careers in politics attract dodgy people who have no place left to fall and live to lie. It is true of both parties, but a little more so of Republicans nowadays. Incidents like this rarely surprise me. It's a bummer to be so jaded. Next?

The odds are much higher that Trump could die suddenly. There would be no Republican votes to remove, so this should be discarded as a distractionist pipe dream.

If the pope is now supposed to a crime fighter, start by arresting Trump. Not for blasphemy, though. It is one of Trump's lesser offenses. He can't even be excommunicated because he was never baptized Catholic and doesn't even pretend to conform his conduct to Christian ideals.

ICE agents who kidnapped innocents are foolishly laboring under a false sense of security. There is no statute of limitations on federal prosecution of kidnapping. Most states also lack a kidnapping statute of limitations. The security blanket will be ripped to shreds the moment Trump falls.

Conditions are just as bad as in the Nazi camps for prison laborers. In some cases maybe worse. Still worse, a lot of these people have not been accused or convicted of any crime.
