I’ve been watching Outrageous on BritBox. I was somewhat aware of the Mitford sisters because I’ve gone to Chatsworth, but I had no idea about how some were so on board with Fascism in the 1930s.

It’s becoming almost unbearable over at the other place. Worse than ever.

I was just thinking about that. She spent a ridiculous amount of money, and she knew she was just temporary.

Making batch # 2 of Hot Cross Buns today. The first batch was okay, but I couldn’t find the little glacé fruits I like to put in them, so I had to improvise with raisins, dried cranberries and candied cherries. Probably will make 2 more batches.

Which (free) language learning apps do you like? I’m getting fed up with Duolingo.

That’s probably true, but they don’t have it at Safeway, Save on Foods, Shopper’s Drug Mart, or any other stores I’ve been in lately. Just seems odd.

Possibly, but I haven’t seen one since probably November, and I do look every time I go to the store. I know there’s a spring issue, but I don’t see it on sale.

Is Chatelaine magazine not sold in any grocery store magazine racks anymore? I don’t want to subscribe, but I did like to grab one a few times of year, especially for holiday recipes. Haven’t seen one in months!

Arrgghh. Gonzaga is an 8th seed in the March Madness tournament. That’s the worst spot!! You play a team that’s pretty much your equal, and if you win that, next up is the #1 seed in the bracket.

He changed the name of that mountain in Alaska back to Mt. Mckinley. He has to know it’s a state. Parody accounts can be funny, but it’s just too hard to tell them apart from reality these days.

Do you know many Americans? How are they feeling about what is happening? I got my first university degree in the US, and my close college friends are all utterly appalled and embarrassed. But some college acquaintances less so.

So many people are so looking forward to this Foreign Interference Report that I’m afraid it will be a disappointment—because it won’t reveal as much as we hope it will.

Another New Year’s Resolution: stop buying ‘aspirational’ clothing. I am not going on any kind of beach vacation in the foreseeable future, nor to anything where I need to wear sequins and velvet. No matter how cute or what a deal—I have *enough* of that kind of clothing.

Tonight is the first night for one of my New Year’s resolutions: trying to get to sleep before midnight! This is a big challenge for me, because I’m a lifelong night owl. But I can’t run on 5-6 hours of sleep anymore.

Does anyone know how to soft block or make someone unfollow you here? At the other place you could block them and then unblock to make them unfollow. That doesn’t seem to work here. 1/2

How’s December going for you so far? It’s raining here tonight! We had to cancel our tree decorating party because a couple of other people here have colds and the ones who were coming over don’t want to catch it. I’m over my cold but lost my voice.

I got a jigsaw one for my husband with a stained glass nativity scene on it. He is delighted! (I also got him a chocolate one)
