Finally, @crommers.bsky.social asked, "Why are Podcasts Ads so bad?" in her look into how advertising's past, present, and future haunt the podcast ad landscape.

Then, koraycaliskan.bsky.social and @addiemcgowan.bsky.social gave a double paper on Google's superplatform as a demarketised supply chain, exploring the complexities of "adtech spaghetti" in "Prodexchange: Digital-Industrial Economisation in Google Search Supply Chain."
@donaldamackenzie.bsky.social kicked us off by asking "What Your TV Knows About You," bringing a consideration of adtech's embodiment in domestic settings (think: on the sofa, do you lean in, or lean back, for certain ads?).
Our project team recently presented some work-in-progress at our Platforms, Advertising, and Power event, captured by a live illustrator. Check out the visual summary here, and special thanks to Illustrated Live for capturing our talks!

We greatly appreciate the anonymous peer reviewers who gave generous and helpful comments, and look forward to continuing the conversation out in the open.
Prodexchange moves us into a digital industrial economization approach to understanding Google Search. We hope it is helpful for academics, adtech pros, and regulators alike when considering how competition disappears within Google's supply chain, not at its storefront.
This reimagining allows us to see how each node of its supply chain produces and exchanges simultaneously- we call this prodexchange.
Huge thanks to @platformsnsociety.bsky.social for publishing our most recent project output. It argues that we need to reimagine Google Search as a supply chain, not a search engine. Check it out, open access, here: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...
