Honestly I got close. Pictured the world like this because of the way even nice people hated each other, and not being ready in time. Separately: some kind of involvement in film, which felt too unrealistically cool to tell anyone. NOT these things being capable of happening at the same time.

This is the difference between lettering, and lettering with a designer's eye. A character is waking up after nearly drowning. The top balloon is okay. It gets the job done. But the bottom balloon really SELLS the watery lungs.

Poster for a showing of Atomic Cafe, an early 80s documentary about early Cold War Media. It looks like a house is unfolding and an eerie light is coming up from the cellar behind the walls. The tagline I went with is “A documentary without a voice of god”, referring to both the darkness/chaos of the subject matter and the film’s lack of a narrator.

Hiiiii!! My favorite style to work in uses just one or two accent colors at most on a monochrome piece.
