This reads to me that they're rightfully afraid that they're about to lose a lot of money on these two Avengers films.

I've chosen such a weird freak picture of myself that I barely registered that I was on there lol

I'd also argue you should never give any public figure anything resembling loyalty, but it's more important for politicians lol

Also to be clear: I'll never stan a politician because a politician should never have your loyalty.

They work for the people they represent, and bad stuff happens when we forget it or allow them to forget it.

I'll never stan a politician, but Mamdani sure is saying and doing most of the right things.

Can't ask for much more than that from someone in his position.

Mamdani: "What are we fighting for?. When you look back at the history books of our party, 100 years ago we had a very clear vision of what we were fighting for. It's sad that for too many Americans, when they want to look for ambition in the Democratic Party, then have to turn to a history book."

I will at least note that without that knowledge it reads as completely consistent with the story so far, it didn't strike me as odd at all when I didn't know that.

Given how they'd acted up to that point, I 100% bought that they wanted to sell a different narrative to the public.

I still REALLY like Rey, Finn, and Poe and think Filoni's eye for nuance could genuinely add something to their stories and the story of the Galaxy picking up the pieces after three devastating back-to-back wars.

Tbh as an artist I 100% respect the very genuine dedication and passion to that era.

As a viewer I'm unfortunately not interested.

I personally want to move forward with something that shows us what happens after the First Order is defeated, something that'll cleanse the palate after TRoS.

Federal Judge Vacates Kennedy Declaration, Permanently Blocks Trump's Trans Youth Care Hospital Threats The judgment overturns the Kennedy Declaration which has been used to force 40 hospitals to drop trans youth care.

1. This weekend, a federal judge permanently blocked funding threats to providers and hospitals that provide trans youth care.

The judge also blocked "any similar policy."

Hospitals have NO excuse and must return to providing care under many blue state laws.

And spending an entire year not making stuff at all would wreak havok on my mental health lol

So not sure it would be worth it for me, I don't ever intend on retiring even if it were somehow financially plausible

That requirement is a tall order, I genuinely might turn it down lol

I like making things to share with other people, I don't see much point in just making art only for myself

1 day ago 10 0 1 0

The dream is to be able to make art without compromises, make enough money to be comfortable, and have enough left over to make more stuff.

The dream is not to get the attention of studio execs and the privilege of being on a "legitimate" platform.

That world is dead.

Yeah, I can't imagine having an indie project hit really big and letting a major studio get involved unless they were willing to chip in cash to make more happen.

And even then, that's with them getting zero ownership.

I've dealt with many propriety programs for VSTs over the years, but Wave Central is by far the worst.

Whoever made the decisions that led to hiding the .dll files in some bullshit that requires you to do tedious nonsense in order to actually access the plugins you paid for is a bad person.

I'd agree, it just doesn't need to be the "robots are supplanting humans" narrative that the framing implies

Cruise sits in that uncomfortable place as both the victim of a cult and also one of the primary beneficiaries of it.

Which, of course, is part of how they get you.

And I just don't know what to do with that self-conflicting narrative.

I was already not hyped at all for Doomsday.

Now they've scrapped all their in-house artists, presumably because Disney has a new CEO who wants to make it look like he's doing something to make shareholders money.

Glen Powell seems like a chill dude, but I gotta admit I've yet to see him in a role that made me think he was interesting as an actor.

We don't go around comparing cars to human runner achievements, why should this be any different just because somebody built it with legs?

Just say you built a fast robot.

Yeah, for sure. Music is powerful, but it's a multiplier to whatever is already happening on-screen.

If the scene feels cheap and unearned, even the greatest music ever composed will sound hollow in the moment.

"Joyless" is the key word for me usually haha

Life is kinda funny, even when it's hard. Levity is part of life. A film without joy is a film that I personally can't muster up any interest in.

And the thing is, there are plenty of films that have efficient character work that keeps the story moving

But I genuinely believe the ONLY way that works is with character-focused comedy

Characters making you laugh in revealing ways is the best hack for investing people quickly

It's been my huge critique of Rogue One since it premiered, and it kinda baffles me that so many folks declare it to be great when it fails on such a fundamental level for me

If the mold takes over her like the Venom symbiote and she's launched into space forever?

Then sure, go nuts.

But until she's unable to profit from it, it's simply not "silly little video just for fun" material.

2 days ago 43 5 0 0

Like, it sucks actually to make a video about the flawed worldbuilding like it's just a silly thing from our childhoods that's fun to overanalyze.

I'd genuinely love to be able to engage with it in that way again, but that's simply not what it is anymore.
