a macbook laptop decorated with a few stickers. Some stickers to highlight are a circular sticker with a black background that reads 'Cynical Optimist' with 'cynical' in white and 'optimist' in pink. Another square sticker that says 'GOV.UK Make things open, it makes things better' in vertical.

If you see the word 'Spearheaded,' on a cover letter or CV, you just know it's written by chatGPT

I love the concept of manuals of me. I think for me, 1-2-1 is easier cuz everyone feels 'safe' to be more straightforward and open with me. It's more in bigger meetings in groups. I find it mentally draining to adjust my comms style or try to decipher what people are saying. 😭

British 'beating around the bush' comms style is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo exhausting. Just tell me what u need and want, and I can do the same 😭

i might have something! We've been working on a project for reporting an outbreak in ASC. I've spoken with a few local authorities (government public health teams) around their experiences of using our service. But it's very niche, so not sure if it'll be helpful. lemme know

We've become too 'work-fied' that we are forgetting that we are talking about people. humans.

Call ableism as ableism and talk about it as it is.

I understand the sentiment of 'convincing' stakeholders about inclusion and accessibility with legal terms and consequences, but can't a girl just talk about inclusion and diversity of disabled folks as celebrating diversity and humanness of life.

why does everything have to be convincing someone

to all user researchers or gov people: which recruitment agency do you use? are there any 'agencies' that specifically have relationships with minoritised groups?

despite all the shit things happening around the world, I've finally found the balance of romanticising small things in life and doing big fun things in life & I've never been happier.

The best clapback of the week goes to the Mexican president suggesting that the North American continent be known as “América Mexicana” because 'an 1814 founding document that preceded Mexico’s constitution referred to it that way.'

It's terrifying that Trump Americans don't understand how tariffs work & how much harm it's going to cause THEM. And, the scariest of all, 'how many Americans will have the opportunity to hear it in its entirety'?

Absolutely and absolutely no reason for a billionaire to exist. Like ever.

The world has become scarier in the last couple of weeks, and we have to pretend that everything will be okay and still work.
