Meet the Vermont Labor Movement: Ironworkers Local 7
Local 7 represents workers who weld, install rebar, build bridges, construct the metal frames of buildings and more. Recently, Local 7 Ironworkers completed the structure of the Burlington Square project on time and under budget after a non-union contractor couldn't get the job done.
Why Prop 3 matters for Ironworkers: Ironworkers work high up with dangerous tools. They have some of the most dangerous jobs in the construction industry. Proposal 3 makes sure that Ironworkers will always be able to fight together for strong safety protections on jobsites.
Meet Ironworkers Local 7, one of our affiliates! We need to pass Proposal 3 to make sure the people who build our bridges and frame our buildings will always be able to fight for strong safety protections at work.

If you work, you owe your thanks to former labor Secretary Frances Perkins – the architect behind the 40-hour workweek, the minimum wage, unemployment insurance, and Social Security.
On her birthday today and every day, America’s unions celebrate her legacy and leadership.
