Lupine coming with another fun one: Reaching the distant log cabin was already a challenge for anyone trekking through inches of snow. Even harder for a burly badger just trying to rest after a hard day of work. Warmed by the calm glow of the fireplace, Nik tugs his rugged work boots off. This wasn't without purpose of course! On the one hand, he was finally able to rest his wide footpaws. He'd complained about wanting to get new, proper fitting work boots. Ones that not only withstood his tough job, but also provided soft cushioning for his broad footpaws throughout the day. On the other hand, he wasn't stupid. During the whole hike up here, he'd noticed you lingered close behind. Off-comments about the size of his footprints in the snow, glances at the treads, etc. All were tell-tale signs that Nik picked up on, he was ready to push the envelope. With one large paw resting on his belly Mr. Krol lets out a friendly laugh. Seeing how still you'd become was the final confirmation he needed. He raised both of his tree trunk legs upwards, his wide footpaws now resting on the coffee table between the two of you. One laid bare while the other was practically vacuum sealed in a thick work sock. "There are other ways to keep warm, you know?" the badger smirked. --Lupine

Out of Pocket Medical Care for Mom Goal of $8000 In the middle of Dec, mom was hospitalized for an intestinal infection. During that treatment doctors noticed a growth, so they tested to make sure. At New Year's Eve, my mom was diagnosed with cancer. She is starting her treatment this week and while she has health insurance, due to it being the beginning of the year, she has to pay a minimum out of pocket amount before it kicks in. This target amount is for both the out of pocket expenses as well as other expenses. Thank you for reading.

So, I've been trying to keep it together, but on New Year's my mom was diagnosed with cancer. Her treatment starts this week. She tells me she has insurance but since the year rolled over she has to pay a max out of pocket. Anything would help, please share if you can.
