Ford whines that he gets more scrutiny than others.

Fortunately for Ford but unfortunately for ON, such scrutiny will dramatically decrease when his FOI changes become law tomorrow.

Such a sad state of affairs and we have 3 more years of this.

"The decision to buy the jet during a cost-of-living crisis in which people are struggling to afford to gas up their vehicle or fill their grocery cart with staples was incomprehensible. I’d call it an own goal, but it was more akin to the team setting its stadium on fire."

To be fair, Doug Ford said he’d “stop the gravy train”, not the gravy plane. 🙄😡

- Increases and prolongs reliance on fossil (so next crisis hurts even more)

- Often doesn't pass through to consumers (fossil co's just pocket it)

- Benefits enjoyed more by the rich (who drive bigger cars longer distances)

- Decreases gov't revenue so you end up paying for it in different ways

Across health AI, systems are being built and implemented without asking whether patients or communities have a decision-making role in if, when, and how these systems are used in their care. hashtag#WhoDecides

I still can't get over people saying "Just ChatGTP it" like you can actually trust what it says without verifying what it says, it's horrifying. #AI

I don’t think people around the world realize how bad the attack on Lebanon was today. It’s BAD. Like 9/11 BAD. Hospitals are overflowing and do not have enough blood. We still don’t know what the death toll is.
This is TERRORISM. Pure and Simple.

The troubling thought that I can't let go:

AI will be catastrophe not because it will fail or will enslave humanity.

It will be a catastrophe because it will be "good enough" and it will scale mediocrity in all aspects of society, industry, business and government. We will eradicate excellence.

The government wouldn't give us a list of data centres seeking power in Ontario.

So, we built one ourselves.

What @rorywh.bsky.social and I found: at least 15 projects drawing a combined 2,202 MW: more electricity than 2 million homes.

Screenshot of Colorado General Assembly website showing SB26-051, "Age Attestation on Computing Devices," a bill from the 2026 Regular Session sponsored by Senator Matt Ball and Representative Amy Paschal. The bill summary describes requiring operating system providers to collect user age at account setup and transmit an age bracket signal to applications. Filed under "Children & Domestic Matters," which is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.

Colorado Wants Your Operating System to Card You

step 1: type any birthday you want. step 2: app decides you're lying based on "vibes". step 3: the app's guess is now legally binding. this is the actual plan 🪪🎂
