Kid on a balance bike on an obstacle course

Kid on a balance bike on an obstacle course

My little one had a blast! He rode the obstacle course countless times, and even won his age bracket in the balance bike race. It was also great to meet a few people from this platform that I hadn't met (in person) yet.

I didn't stick around long enough for the competition, but I impressed even myself hauling home both the balance bike we brought and the pedal bike that @bikefun.bsky.social generously gave us -- plus my kid!

I'm actually really excited about that. I've never ridden on the Trace but I might just go out and do it in the next year on that section.

You were right!

Guess @hubnashville.bsky.social ... needs more information?

There's a Hub form for this, BTW, but only for info gathering.

Waymo in the bike lane on Demonbreun St viaduct

Weren't Waymos supposed to be better than human drivers at following traffic laws?

Thanks for the rec! I gave it a try this year and it was so much less buggy than TurboTax (and without paying out the nose for it).

The news release says there's a "7.5-mile detour route" (for the ~3-mile closure) posted on their website and socials, but I have yet to find it (I checked). They also implicitly suggest that cyclists should not attempt the detour.

Natchez Trace Parkway's Double Arch Bridge to Close for Construction - Natchez Trace Parkway (U.S. National Park Service)

Looks like NPS announced it just 4 days ago. Nothing yet on their alerts page. I only found out about it this morning from an Instagram story.

Also, I kinda thought the current fence was the permanent barrier. Guess I'm glad it will be upgraded; hopefully something that will allow for better views.

Recently I witnessed one having the same poor reading comprehension as many human drivers on Gallatin Rd. Specifically, it ignored this sign about the extended green in the opposite direction and tried to make a left turn right after the light turned red despite the oncoming traffic.

I rarely go there because the hours are inconvenient. It has nothing to do with parking.

I rode by this (on the opposite direction) this morning and saw that the driver was indeed unloading from the back.

Heck, make it even easier. I'm usually submitting with my smartphone, which can provide my current GPS location to any web or native app if I permit it.

Exactly! I can provide the address. Go to that address and just ticket (tow?) any illegally parked cars you see.

My question as well. It seems like the bureaucrats can continue ignoring BPAC's and VZAC's recommendations just like they already are.

Can you use Open Street Map data? The public can already contribute to that data set.

As I was checking out, the clerk (presumably after seeing my ring) asked if I'd gotten my wife a plant for Easter yet. I'm from Georgia, but I'm not familiar with this tradition.

The advertising worked on me; I bought a Dr. Pepper.

New public transit just dropped in McFerrin Park! Best part, it's free. Worst part, there's only one stop and it has a limited service span.
(Thanks to the neighborhood associations for a great Easter egg hunt event!)

I don't know, Ben. There are some wealthy homeowners at 180 9th Ave N that are on this map. And they are known for throwing a fit when they feel inconvenienced.

I'm pretty sure my pediatrician was in that shopping center (I grew up in a different Atlanta suburb).

Rode my bike along Riverside Dr to enjoy the cherry trees in bloom and "accidentally" ended up at Mitchell Deli. Guess which bike parking I chose.

They're dragging their feet on the East Nashville Spokes project. Same reason I still can't ride in a protected bikeway on the Woodland St bridge with my young child, which I should have been able to do by the time he could get on my bike.
