It’s not impossible to swap HappyView to consuming the firehose. The main issue is that HappyView is intended to be general purpose, and consuming the firehose isn’t cheap. I’d hate to make the software difficult to run on low-resource devices.

I agree with the majority of your points! The issue is that Bluesky has been saying they want to grow and support the Atmosphere, but the presentation they gave signaled the opposite.

At the same time, I think their announcement signaled exactly the opposite because it lacked context, and it failed to acknowledge the impact the release would have on the community.

I don’t think that’s the case at all. Based on my conversation with Paul, and the way he and Jay have talked about Attie, I believe they’re genuinely trying to strengthen the ecosystem, not tear it down.
