The SAVE act died in the Senate.
As politely as I can, it is hard to overstate how stupid GOP voters are. Anything not GOP is "Marxism and communism" according to them.

Gil Duran tweet: TLDR: Fascism in response to Palantir's long fascists screed on X.
"Your Account is Suspended" Message on X
The CEO of Palantir posted a fascist manifesto on X.
I pointed out that it was fascist—which resulted in a permanent suspension from X (my second time!).
So, when you hear the tweeters complaining that BlueSky is intolerant, remember why many of us came here in the first place.
"Palantir is not just a problem of profiteering from our national healthcare system— it's a fundamental threat to the democratic control of our public infrastructure + the privacy of every citizen. By giving our taxes to this company, we are aiding their operations everywhere."

H.R. 1897 is moving fast in the House and could hit the floor for a full vote as soon as tomorrow. This bill would gut the Endangered Species Act forcing economic impact considerations into listing decisions, limiting your ability to challenge bad science in court,
The National Science Foundation which funds a quarter of all basic scientific research in the country is being dismantled.

Federal agencies are drifting into Christian nationalism—from mass religious emails to taxpayer-funded prayer services.
That’s not “religious freedom.”
It’s government endorsement of religion. And it’s unconstitutional.
This is what Christian Nationalism looks like.
More specifically, this is what White Christian Nationalism looks like.
A government that belongs to We the People preaching broken theology from a "holy book" while utterly failing to make the lives of those people better. Christian Nationalism fails.
Graph showing the US profit margins jus hit a record high
Corporations want you to think they're raising prices because they have to. The truth is that they're also raising prices to the point where they now have the highest profit margins in history.

The USDA just finalized a rule that guts environmental review on our public lands.
"One hundred and ninety-three million acres of your national forests... The largest public land agency in the country. Just handed, on a silver platter, to the people who’ve spent their entire careers trying to destroy it.
And they did it with a press release..."

There’s no federal holiday for Easter for a reason.
The government isn’t supposed to promote religion.
Making one for a specifically Christian holy day crosses a constitutional line.
Living w/ complex trauma tends to absolutely obliterate survivors' tolerance for people who aren't working to be their most authentic selves or resolve their sh*t.
Survivors have had more than enough of others phoning it in. Be present & real with us, or GTFO.

administration is fast-tracking the rollback with only a 7-day public comment window compared to the 150 days of public input that went into creating the protections in the first place. Tribal nations, conservation groups, and 71% of New Mexico voters oppose the move. None of that appears to matter.
We need your help please. Please share.

Our friends at Firestorm are struggling in the face of disaster capitalism. A queer- and worker-owned bookstore that has, over and over, been there for the community.

A collective photo taken at Firestorm Books. Our team, including five humans and two dogs, is sitting on the sidewalk in front of the building looking relaxed. The sky is bright but cloudy and flags on the building hang without any indication of wind. The building is painted forest green and various posters and signs are visible in the windows, which reflect the sky. The largest reads "Immigrants Welcome."
Like a lot of small businesses in our region, Firestorm has been in financial distress for the last year. Hurricane Helene was our tipping point, but local cost of living increases, inflation, and higher occupancy costs are huge contributors. 1/9

A small-but-growing number of Christian Nationalists say women shouldn't be able to vote. And their wives agree.
Even scarier?
They have powerful friends connected to the government who share their views.

It's effectively a declaration that what they are at war with is transness itself and that they will stop at nothing to mandate conversion therapy for all of us. That's it. That's what it is. That's what it is meant as. There is no other way to read it because they are blatant about it.
