My dad passed away suddenly and unexpectedly this week while returning from a trip with my mom for their 40th anniversary.

He was such a great dad. He raised 6 kids. He was selfless. He worked for Walgreens for 35 years and was very proud I earned my PhD at Princeton.

I am heartbroken.

Sometimes the world has an odd way of poking fun at things because growing up, my grandmother drove into my best friend’s mailbox not once, but twice. And today on my 30th birthday when she’s no longer here, someone took out his mailbox one more time for good measure.
