I jumped to Linux Mint and never looked back. No regrets. There's a good community around it and so far, I've been able to handle any issues. I'd say I'm a knowledgeable beginner at Linux.
Linux just works. No BS, no subscriptions, no paying for basic functions. I feel so...clean now.
