There was someone at my hometown church who would make deviled ham sandwiches on dollar buns for funerals. They were so good.

Special Saturday Triad: What I Saw at the Battle of Minneapolis The national media has moved on. Minnesota is still under siege.

"You now live in a country where volunteers deliver babies at home, in secret, off the books, because mothers fear that if they go to the hospital, they will be abducted by masked, armed agents of the state while giving birth. This is not a hypothetical."

Minnesota churches provide critical supports as immigrants hide at home • Minnesota Reformer It’s a natural extension of churches’ spiritual worldview — backed by scripture — that compels believers to help the vulnerable.

In the Twin Cities, churches have become lifelines for their immigrant congregants. As immigrant families hide at home, their pastors and fellow church-goers bring them groceries and gather money to pay their rent. I wrote about it:

Every photo from Minneapolis looks like this. Cops decked out with guns and full tac gear facing off against people in bathrobes, parkas, and sweatpants armed only with whistles and cell phones.

Yet every verified MAGA chode on X dutifully calls it a riot or violent insurrection.

Mother's immigration arrest leaves Madison soccer standout reeling Federal immigration agents detained a Madison soccer player's mother while she was in Minnesota for her son's games. Now, he's struggling.

Martin, an 18-year-old citizen and soccer player, traveled with his Madison-area team to Minneapolis for a Futsal tournament (which my kid's team was going to play in, then opted out). While there, ICE stopped Martin and took his mom, who has been detained since.

I'm not sure what to make of it, but every Somali I represent in immigration court currently (8 of them) have today had their hearings cancelled and their judges reassigned. They're now all assigned to a video judge from Louisiana and scheduled for court hearing in one month. 🧵

My favorite memory of the Gasthaus. With my gf at the time. We ordered a "charcuterie" type of plate and polished it off. Then, we each got a giant mug of beer, hiked to the tree line and watched a lunar eclipse.

My kids went to a home daycare run by a Somali woman who could not have loved them more and is now a treasured family friend. I have to tell you, my reaction to these people specifically acting as though “Somali daycare” is automatically code for fraud is, like, tasting colors levels of fury.

Action and tangible results are so much better than gripes and strongly worded letters.

We used records from the gassing of Chicago's Little Village neighborhood to identify some other notable members of the unit: Bryan Belen Lleras, 32, Chad B. Hickman, 50, and Oscar A. Meza, 36.

Belen, Hickman (EZ-9), and Meza (EZ-13) joined CBP in 2017, 2000, and 2008, respectively.

‘ICE conveyor belt’ illegally detaining, moving Minnesota children to Texas faster than courts can respond ICE is pulling Minnesota immigrant families with legal status out of their driveways, homes and school commutes and send

ICE is running a “conveyor belt” of illegally detained Minnesota families.

Agents are arresting entire families with legal status and immediately shipping them off to Texas to deny them legal representation and avoid the federal courts in Minnesota.

The cruelty is endless.

Federal agents at powderhorn park

This morning, federal agents staged at the Powderhorn Park Recreation Center lot and began to throw chemical irritants at observers. They also kidnapped an observer. Our parks are meant for our children, youth, and neighbors. They should never be militarized zones meant to separate families. 1/
