Just like any new job, the initial “training period” is full of unknowns, growth, learning, and finding your footing, and I very much feel like the last 5 months have been me “onboarding” and now I’m starting to settle into my role. Which is exciting because now the real fun begins! 🥳
Being a mom/parent is not for the faint-of-heart, regardless of your career status. It’s not a competition. One is not harder than the other. They are all hard in their own ways. Having this opportunity is an incredible privilege and I don’t take that lightly, but that also doesn’t negate my hard.
But if you asked me on a deeper level, I’d say…
This is simultaneously both the most rewarding and most challenging role I’ve ever held, with little moments that remind me why I’m doing this (especially on those really tough days) and big moments of doubt and frustration.
Coming up on 5 months of being a stay-at-home mom… if you asked me how I’m liking it, I would say I am cherishing this time with my daughter that I’ll never get back.
