However, the digits of their forepaws are more flexible, which helps them grip. What has changed over thousands of years of evolving intelligence, shaped by ancestry and moonstone magic, is subtle but far more significant than any physical redesign. They look like wolves. They move like wolves. They are faster than any Maker, more physically powerful, built for terrain and weather and the particular demands of a world that is largely wild. No wolf can ever truly walk or stand on two legs. When they need to use their forepaws for writing or tasks, they are sitting or laying. Otherwise, they lean upright only briefly, returning immediately to a four-paw stance.

In Lycara, wolves write with ink on a claw tip. Documents are signed with a full forepaw print. 🐾

The Pack Territories Lycara contains six distinct geographic regions, each shaped by the moonstone deposits beneath them and the pack culture that developed above them: Crimson Cliffs — Volcanic red stone ridges in the northwest, warm year-round from geothermal activity, home to the Blood Moon Pack. The moonstone deposits here run in veins through the cliff face, visible as threads of pale light in the red stone. Shadow Hollows — Deep forest and ancient ruins in the northeast, where the light comes in at angles that make shadows longer than they should be, home to the Eclipse Pack. The Maker ruins here are the oldest in Lycara and the least understood. Whispering Plains — Vast open grassland in the southwest where the wind never entirely stops, home to the New Moon Pack. The deposits here are shallow and scattered, creating a faint luminescence across the plains on moonlit nights. Silver River Valley — A territory of reflecting water and luminous forest in the southeast, home to the Full Moon Pack.
