“The process should include public consultations, be transparent from beginning to end, and elected officials should respect its outcome.”
“The government’s proposed approach misses the mark on several points, which casts a doubt over the equity and fairness of Alberta’s electoral process.”
The independent Boundaries Commission consulted with thousands of Albertans before publishing its report.
Ignoring the report is cheating.
Ignoring the report is gerrymandering.
Politicians should never draw election maps.
We cannot allow a government to choose their voters instead of voters choosing their government.
Here's why this matters ⬇️

Politicians should never hold the pencil when it comes to drawing riding boundaries. Make no mistake, that's exactly what the UCP are doing to manipulate the outcome of the next election. It's gerrymandering, and never before has a government been so blatantly anti-democratic.
Email the Premier insisting she withdraw from the absurd choice of having a UCP-dominated committee decide Alberta's electoral boundaries. #AlbertaPolitics #ElectoralBoundaries #ableg
Today, Danielle Smith and the UCP caucus unveiled plans to rig the next election:
A new motion indicates the UCP's plans to manipulate the election maps for the next election in their favour, and without any requirement to consult the public.
This has never been done in Canadian history. /1
The Premier had no problem changing legislation to help out the separatists, but won't lift a finger to help Albertans with the cost-of-living crisis.
The UCP government has the opportunity to give Albertans a break, but they'd rather help themselves.
Calgary-Currie, I'm pleased to announce I'm running to be your MLA again in the next provincial election!

Hey Alberta, it’s time to fight back against separatism and stand up for Canada!
Watch live as we launch For Alberta, For Canada, a new campaign to help Albertans take action and mobilize ahead of a likely referendum this fall.

I’m ready to fight like hell for this country, and against anyone trying to tear it apart.
The richest man in the world wants Canada to become the 51st state and is now amplifying Alberta separatism.
So let’s ask the question:
Who is funding this movement?
Albertans deserve to know.
New Substack! The UCP claim their Bill 25 removes political ideology from the classroom. In reality, it embeds their version of conservative politics deeper than ever before. https://loom.ly/WusbrHk
Alberta NDP leader Naheed Nenshi calls for Justice Minister Micky Amery to be fired following latest Globe and Mail article chronicling latest twist in ongoing Sam Mraiche story.
We've released an energy plan that invests in Alberta's energy sector.

Power-hungry, shameless gerrymandering from the UCP.
We won't let them cheat to win.
Danielle Smith is trying to carve up your voting power like a pizza.
The UCP would rather rig the vote than earn yours.
“None of my MLAs have indicated to me that they’ve signed,” said Danielle Smith two weeks ago.
Now Jason Stephan is openly supporting separatism while serving as Parliamentary Secretary of Constitutional Affairs.
If this isn’t the UCP’s agenda, why is he still in their caucus?
I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Stephen Lewis, a towering figure in Canadian public life and a giant in the New Democratic movement.
His commitment to justice and human dignity shaped generations, and I have been inspired by Stephen throughout my entire political life. /1
March 31st is Trans Day of Visibility. Alberta’s New Democrats will always stand together in strength and solidarity with the trans community. Trans people are not political tools or weapons. They are our friends, family members, co-workers, and neighbours.
The Premier made a promise. She promised a teacher who lives in my riding that help was on the way for her overcrowded and underfunded school. She and her students and colleagues are fed up waiting for help that was promised but never delivered.
Mickey Amery is shamelessly abusing his power as the Minister of Justice to protect himself.
That's not justice, that's corruption.
The UCP's corruption scandal continues to grow.
It started with firing the former AHS CEO for scrutinizing shady contracts last year, and led to the RCMP raiding several offices this week.
For 120 years, Alberta’s heritage organizations have protected our history. This government cut their funding with no warning.
This UCP government wasted a boom, when we were in a boom, and now the heritage societies are paying the price.
Our history matters and it deserves to be protected. #ableg
Albertans are paying more and getting less, so why is the UCP still focused on the wrong priorities?
#abpoli #ableg
Bad priorities. Wasteful spending. Massive tax hikes.
A $9B deficit during a boom.
We've got to ask: Where'd the money go?
"The Premier's credibility is in tatters, and with it, the credibility of the government on fiscal issues...
"Doesn't she see that her actions and her words simply don't line up?"
Bill 206 is a simple piece of legislation, recommended by their own advocate, that would have given ALL Albertans the ability to live with dignity and hope, but the UCP government voted against it today.
We deserve better.
We deserve so much better.

Bill 206, the Accessible Alberta Act, allows us to move away from patchwork legislation to hope and dignity for all Albertans.
We cannot leave this opportunity on the table.
