my reading is that it is not intended to cover ABDL images and additional amendments seek to clarify that. my main concern is that a wider interpretation of the law would be enough to pose a chilling effect on artists and events who simply don't want to take any perceived risk.

there's been a lot of premature catastrophizing over proposed changes to a law in the UK that could affect the ABDL community. this is a great thread that unpacks the situation and looks at the actual amendment wording. it is vague, but there remains the possibility it may simply not be adopted.

My reading of this says that they’re prepared to look at accompanying context clues when looking at an image - the difference of saying “this is a child” next to a picture of an adult vs “this is an adult being made to look childish”

I don’t want to have to argue this in a court of law

I think we need to consider that what a single member says is the intent of a law in a debate and how courts will actually go about interpreting the law dont necessarily have to match

It’s a case of risk management isn’t it
We don’t know how they plan to enforce it or where the boundaries are or what tools they’ll use and if they cast the net wide enough stuff could still get flagged and charged, and just being charged will do plenty of damage

I know we live in extremely trying times where everything is out to get us.

But I need y'all to take a deep breath and not press the panic button immediately. Look into what is being said, review articles and websites.

Not being properly informed is how they keep getting away with kind of shit.

This is important. ABSOLUTELY speak up and talk to your MPs about this amendment.

But DON'T lose your head yet and just purge everything or do something else you'll regret later. This is 100% not a good thing, but it's also not the ABDLpocalypse that a lot of folks are acting like it is.
