This is an interesting one, because we're scoring these blind. At the right price (which is under £70) this is a solid 4. If it's more tha £70 I'd give it a very strong 3....however I don't know. So let's go with 4 here! Dram of the night. Probably not scotch.

Applewood cheese. Leather. Decking on a hot day. Oily rags. Dad's shed. Hot tarmac. Very industrial. This is a the sort of dram you look at the tasting notes & back away, but taste it and you get why it works

Mrs H gets envelope glue here and I can't disagree with that either

Germolene, but the new white stuff, not the good pink stuff. There's a smell similar to Kyrö so assuming it's wood smoked. There's a also slight new car smell to this one.

This is both of our favourite so far tonight. It's an easy drinker but doesn't carry a ton of complexity. A lovely savoury whisky with a dry note right at the end, it's at the higher end of it, but a 3/5 on this one too.

This is an easy drinker. Honey, golden syrup, oranges too but a load of salt too. It's really dry. Another one which would work well with a fish dish!

There's also something like very savoury pineapple at the back of it too.

This is dram of the night so far.

100% on the chocolate limes! A proper memory flash back on the nose immediately with this one.

The nicest and booziest nose so far. Chocolate limes for days on this. It smells quite young and salty, coastal smells in there too. This by far the most interesting to smell

The more I drink this, the more I'm enjoying it. I think it's creeping up to a 3, because I love a good salty savoury dram and it reminds me of the kitchen when we bought our house before we did it up.

This would go really well with a good bit of cod!

3/5

The palate took me by surprise there. It's musty like a kitchen last updated in the 1970s. Then it's really savoury. An umami flavour on this like miso and mushrooms. I'm left with a strong salted liquorice taste too.

The nose is still quite subtle here. A touch of pear and honey. Forrest floor fodder and those green and translucent haribo rings

This is not my sort of thing, but it's an infinitely more interesting dram than D1.

Buyable at a really budget price, this get a 2/5.

An interesting palate on this one. There's a strong grapefruit hit up front. There's something mouldy in here too though. A faint hint of blue cheese then a strong metallic finish, like having a penny under your tongue. Reckon it could be Irish

Mrs H got truffle laced lemon curd

Nose suggests this is a bit more boozy. I get lemon, honeydew melon, a faint hint of italian herbs.

Mrs H said it's like the smell of wooden stairs on the walk back from the beach....she's really embracing this tasting malarkey 😂

Something I'd expect to pick up at the supermarket. It's not bad, but it's just not anything. Highballs, guest whisky, safe. It's a 1/5 for both of us here #BlindDrams

Yeah, I was fighting against a character limit on that one!

It's a bit generic to be honest. Faint lockets, it's quite tart towards the end and water makes it a little waxy in the mouth.

Mrs H just said "If you added essence of whisky to NMS this is what you'd get" - I think that's fairly astute

and we're off, well the nose is a little bit as there's something just a bit on the turn here...golden apples, faint haribo sweets. there's some soft oak notes but all in all, there's not a lot here.

A really interesting line up tonight. I tell myself I really enjoy a port finish, however tonight perhaps suggests that isn't the case.

I have a bottle of the Bunna in the house, and to be fair I'm not disappointed as it was a nice dram.

I said this was the lowest ABV and the oldest!!

Didn't make it anywhere near the port with that one. Smashed into the first rock I could find 🫠

"That tastes like your mouth after you've been sick"

That's what she said.

We've landed on this being a parmesan dram. We've actually been very aligned on our scoring tonight until tonight. I didn't find it as offensive as Mrs H did, but it's just a 2/5 for me here.

The palate isn't anything like the nose. It's very thick, salty and it's a low more mellow than all the other drams tonight. There's a stewed chuntey for cheese flavour and water brings out some bitter plum.

Get the feeling it's much older than the rest tonight

Dear Lord! Blue cheese and feet on the nose. Sweaty gym clothes and slightly damp trainers. Not overly strong, but wow, this one doesn't smell nice to either of us

Eeeek

"Like a cigar that's been dipped in a pinot noir"

That's what she said

Another lovely dram and again at a good price would consider a bottle of it.

It's not quite good enough to have me racing out to get it, so based on that our sequential scoring ends as we give Dram 4 a 3/5

Feels very red wine influenced here. Tannins and dry with a ton. blackcurrant, books, tobacco...this one might well be a port finish, more ruby than tawny though (watch this be a tawny...)

With water there's a ton of maraschino cherry there

Tastes old, but every chance it isn't.

This one singes the nose. A subtle wood shavings smell. It smells old, a dusky dusty bureau and old books. There's also red wine like tannins and faint dark berries and burnt toffee sauce.

"Thank fuck they've put a good one in"

That's what she said.

I really like this, though I'm not sure it is quite strong enough to get to a 4, so I'm landing on a 3/5 here....at the right price I'd buy a bottle of this.

So far we're sequential in our scores...

Oh, this is lovely. Angostura bitters, tart blackberries, something citrus like a blood orange. Yet with all those bitter and tart flavours it's still somehow quite sweet.

Water brings out a bit of spice right at the very end but kills some of those lovely flavours.

Smells like cake. Ginger, nutmeg, treacle, brown suagr. It's like a slice of Jamaica cake (Mrs H adds, with some rum & raisin ice cream).

Lovely dark dram in the glass too. We've moved straight from breakfast to dessert here!
