Well, rezoning repealed. 🏡 68% of Calgary’s parcels will now be zoned R-C1: for single family homes only. Here’s why this will have an impact on Ward 7 and for Calgary’s future workforce. www.instagram.com/p/DW5evNdldf...
This is awesome data! We need this. Thanks for flagging. Checking out the website.
There’s currently no development applications listed as in progress. developmentmap.calgary.ca but we’ll look into it!
Over the past few weeks, crews have worked around the clock (through snow & shine), to make necessary reinforcement repairs to the Bearspaw Feeder Main.
Calgarians stepped up by saving water - helping crews keep the work moving and getting us to the point where restrictions could be lifted today.
Update: March 30 – 4 p.m.
We’re in the homestretch! Feeder main repairs are in the final stages.
📣Today, we are continuing sampling and testing to confirm the water meets or exceeds all regulatory standards.
We learned this morning that we have heard from 287 speakers at the Public Hearing for Repealing Rezoning. With over 250 new speakers registered we still have a ways to go. Thank you to everyone who has taken time out of their busy lives to speak to our City Council!
8 St SW construction is back this April as part of the Revitalize project.
Work starts on the west side (3–5 Ave), moves south to Stampede, then shifts east through fall.
Goal: a safer, more accessible, more pedestrian-friendly street.
Timeline now extends to late 2027.

From March 16-23, we’re celebrating Calgary Transit operators who keep Calgary moving. Has a driver made a positive difference in your day? Share your story on 311 or drop a comment using #ThanksCT
We’ll make sure they see it!
Thank you to everyone doing their part during Stage 4 water restrictions. 💧 This is a short‑term challenge for long‑term system safety — and community cooperation is what makes it work. Learn more about what’s allowed and how to conserve at www.calgary.ca/planning/wat...
Four for four, Calgary – Let’s keep the streak going as we head into the weekend!
Yesterday’s water usage was 482 million litres (ML) which keeps us in the green zone for the FOURTH day in a row.

Yes. City busses and other vehicles are skipping car washes and just spot-washing windows. 🚍
The Bearspaw South Feeder Main is temporarily out of service so crews can complete essential reinforcement work. During this time, Calgary is relying on a more limited water system — which means conserving water is crucial to keep everyone safe and supplied. Thank you for spreading the word. 💚
How you can help during Stage 4 water restrictions:
✅ Skip unnecessary toilet flushes
✅ Keep showers to ~3 minutes
✅ Run dishwashers & laundry only with full loads
Saving even 25 litres per person per day makes a real difference. 💙
Our current water restrictions apply to residents and businesses in the same way. We’re asking everybody to use a little less.
Thank you for participating and sharing your thoughts with council! Comprehensive info can be found here ↘ www.calgary.ca/council/meet...
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, practice what you want to say and aim for 4min30. You will be cut off at 5 minutes. Speaking at a normal pace while taking time to emphasize points is more effective than speaking quickly for 5 minutes! Slow down and plan ahead. 📋⌚
You can submit slides to the city clerks, but an easier option is to print out your slides (landscape style and one slide per page) and use the overhead projector camera which will show them on the big screen. This allows you to navigate your own materials a little easier. 👈
If you join in person, you can get a transit ticket or parking pass through the public submission form, or visit this page for a number of accessibility accommodations as well. 🚉🅿 www.calgary.ca/council/meet...
📞If you are phoning in to speak, pick a quiet environment and don't forget to mute the device you are watching the public hearing on when it is your turn to speak. Otherwise Mayor Farkas will have to remind you to "hit mute like it's 2020"! 🔇
The deadline to register to speak at the Public Hearing for Rezoning is approaching 12:00pm on March 16th. Here are some of our tips as real people who have spoken at council ourselves! (link to more info at the end) 🧵
🚰 Stage 4 water restrictions are now in effect as critical repair work begins on the Bearspaw South Feeder Main. For the next few weeks, every litre counts. Please help by making small but meaningful changes to your routine. Small actions = big impact. 💧
Pro tip: Dishwashers love commitment.
Only run them when they’re full — half loads are so last season.
Water restrictions come into effect today March 9th. Every load counts! 💧👕

Many carwashes actually have a recycling system of their own water. If you see them still running, there is probably more to it than just ignoring restrictions, just as a heads up!
Water conservation begins March 9th!
This weekend is a great time to get those laundry loads done — full loads only, please!
Future-you (and our water system 💧) will say thanks. #yyc #bsfm

Leaky bathtub? This weekend would be a great time to get into Detective Mode 🕵️♀️🔧
That tiny leak could be wasting a lot of water.
Channel your inner detective and fix those sneaky drips at home!
