#Millbrook village and lake, as seen from the seat at the top of Maker Lane. Nice new sign for Pigshill Wood.
"Most decorated" athlete...
If we're going to adopt one grotesque American word, it really should be #winningest. We have nothing like it in English.
I see Question Time has reached its inevitable endgame. It was bound to happen.
Scary sweets.
@profaliceroberts.bsky.social Really enjoyed your Worthing lecture yesterday. It really brought that part of the book to life. I've often wondered how Richard Dawkins feels about the hijack of his brilliant description of "memes" - not many know that it was his invented term.
Poetry from Attila and Robin. A great way to spend a damp Sunday afternoon.
Brilliant, as always. And I love the way you just slip in and out of the room.

That was good. Great recommendation.
Hmmm...
Employer enrols me in yet another online anti-phishing training course. Then sends me an unexpected Amazon gift card a few days later. Is it a test?
Is it Americanisation (with an ess), or Americanization (with a zee)?
Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Loved it last time. I'm in...
Saturday in Brixton. Only supporting, but I'll be there when the doors open...

Distraction.
Found out yesterday that the Scottish seaside village scenes in #DownCemeteryRoad were filmed here. I thought I recognised it from the first shot of the river flowing next to the main road.

I could play guitar and rope a steer before I learned to stand
Home was anywhere with diesel gas, love was a trucker's hand
Never stuck around long enough for a one night stand
Before you kiss me you should know, papa was a rodeo"

Firmly in my calendar. #GoodwoodRevival
A full day of the sounds and smells of engines of yesteryear.
And a load of period style, clothing, music.
I did the same a few years ago. I saw Moonlandingz as support there. Didn't stay for the headline act (Goat). ๐
Seeing them next month in Brixton. One of those strange gigs where I'm mostly there for the support act.
Early night? Not possible if you catch the opening credits of #Terminator as you scroll through the TV channels. ๐๐๐ซ
Whenever I see an advert pop-up for Richard Daw... my brain fills in the gap, I read #RichardDawson and my heart races. Then I see it's mostly sold out and it's only #RichardDawkins.
Photographic evidence that you can see St Paul's Cathedral from Richmond Park. If the visibility is good and you have a telescope. Or good eyes.
The start and end of my daily (weather permitting) lunchtime walk. Nice weather for it today. ๐

For those who don't understand map projections and are amazed that some countries seem bigger than they really are (e.g. Greenland)...
Study a globe or a #Dymaxion projection:
Aero engines in #ScienceMuseum #London. Awesome. ๐คฉ๐คฉ๐คฉ
So that's the new #Lynley watched through.
Both characters are softened compared with the books and with the Parker/Small castings of the previous adaptation. He's less posh, she's less untidy. Stories are still good. Worth a look.
It's still based on Elisabeth George books and she is an executive producer.
