The Vickers water-cooled MG was just as bad ..
I was posting on the fly, I thought had them all covered ๐๐๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Paging @g7kna.co.uk with thanks to @sakura-densha.bsky.social ๐๐๐คฃ
Exactly that!!
Lols, I love it!! I have this on the back door. And yes, I know she needs a wash!!
I'm out /P in The Phantom for the first time in at least 8 months. The bands are in poor shape but the weather is good ๐๐
Is it a "position vacant?"
Leaving aside the propagation on Saturday and Sunday morning the #AirfieldsOnTheAir Special Event was a good event
Shout out to:
Saturday: Mark #M0SKV, David #M7GVY, @bigbernie.bsky.social and @g7kna.co.uk
Sunday: @bigbernie.bsky.social @g7kna.co.uk Kenneth #M7MYU David #M7GVY and Uskmouth ARS
Right you lot, I'm about to turn all the tech off and spend some time with @racheljs.bsky.social who I haven't seen since Friday. This, a tribute to my dear friend Geordie who was a better guitarist than I could ever hope to be.

You can't kill a squadron!!

We'll be down for that!! ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Actually, before I say that, is it 450 ohm ladder line?
You can take the boy out of Oz, but you can't take Oz (and the BBQ!!) out of the boy!!
Ah, your ATU can handle ladder line? That's going to make things easier!!
I'm tied up next weekend, but how are you looking for the weekend after? I'll need to check with @racheljs.bsky.social she hasn't filed any flight plans she hasn't told me about, but if she hasn't, that might be a good opportunity ๐๐
What a perfect location ๐ I can't wait to get down there and try it for myself!!
Loving your set-up!! I'm sure I've got some spare flexiweave here somewhere, we could make a 20 or 40m inverted "V" for you to try? I'll speak to @g7kna.co.uk about how to feed it with 50ohm coax, as we use ladder line for ours. It's a very efficient antenna, and may make a big difference to you ๐๐
We'll get there, and I'll pop on down soon for shenanigans at your local 'strip ๐๐
Airfields On The Air today, with my club @sbarc.co.uk at the former RAF Westonzoyland in Somerset. And without realising it, we ended up on this frequency. @rafluton.bsky.social to note.
Photo taken from a Meteor, just for a change.
We cannot, I forbid it!!
I shall be disappointed if it doesn't happen!!
Amateur Radio chums, it's Airfields On The Air this weekend and my fine chum @captain-mushroom.bsky.social is still the only registered Welsh station participating. It's the first time the former RAF Carew Cheriton has been activated, so expect there to be a bit of a pile-up if you try to work him!
On the assumption you're wondering what the other end of the scale looks and sounds like, I give you Geordie Walker and his ES-295. My dream guitar.

Bloomin' insomnia can do one. So I'm listening to one of the two great guitar inspirations in my life (the other is at the opposite end of the scale, very electric and very loud) and it is my delight to share with you Mr Davey Sharp.

It please me to see someone else always keeps the eggs and the beans separate. They should never be allowed to mix, hooliganism always results!!
It's been ten years since I last travelled by @gwr.com and in that time it's refreshing to see that in a mad world, some things haven't changed. 19:48 Paddington to Bristol Parkway, five cars vice 10, and folks crammed right in. Back to #FlixBus next time. And I flagged the coach for this "comfort"
Thanks, definitely RDF rather than radar. And here's the proof my boys were part of the trials ๐๐โ ๏ธโ ๏ธโ ๏ธ
Scratch that, it's Radio Direction Finding, an early radio navigation aid, not radar.
