i compared a few different variations of the algorithm, implemented from scratch in C++, tested via benchmarking and a questionnaire.
overall though, i produced some very pretty polygonal asteroids, which was ultimately my goal. i'm super happy with the results!
mostly i was looking for execution speed, and regularity of the resulting mesh - triangles need to be (ideally) pretty much equilateral. and no holes in the mesh, hopefully. the basis of my work was Regularised Marching Tetrahedra, by Treece Prager and Gee (1999)

It's fascinating to see the changes in one company's logo over the years.

oh yikes… yeah i don’t blame you doing what you gotta do to get by in a microsoft-owned world. i do nearly all my uni work on a windows 10 laptop since i need my shit to be testable on uni machines.
i was also super paranoid…. but im not about to dual boot for zzz, so it was either risk it or stop playing anyway for me

i haven’t been banned or anything yet, and this technique works with genshin too (i did have to install the launcher twice in two separate proton prefixes as the proton/wine virtual C drive seems to have a limited capacity)
yes! i’ve been playing it under linux for a while. my setup is: add the base installer as a non-steam game -> run the installer using proton -> find and add the now-installed launcher as a non-steam game -> run it using proton too. then just use the launcher like normal
