I have been writing about the ed tech backlash, but I have so much to say. It's getting wordy. If any media or publishing folks out there are looking for a piece that's more than just an op-ed, please reach out.

Rick Hess interviewing a guy who has been wrong about ed tech every step of the way. LOL.
Also, Virginia is very thermostatic in voting. In other words, it's quite possible VA Dems overshot the goal here. I hope not.
For those not paying attention, the vote on redistricting in VA is going to be *close*. Two recent high quality polls have YES winning by ~5%, barely outside the margin of error. Spanberger won in 2025 by double digits, but she ran against a *weak* candidate. And the NO groups worked HARD here.
I am headed out to vote for the band that brought us "Owner of a Lonely Heart." I don't know what they'll do if they win, but everyone I respect in Virginia is telling me to vote for them. Even President Obama endorsed them!
I'll take that bet...
Right, but there could be any number of datasets in play and not just draft data. For example, they could be trying to figure out if they have an advantage when running plays with two TEs, and if so, whether they should draft an extra TE.
we've had no communication yet
Here's a thing that I think happens often: the workers/staff use AI in fairly sophisticated ways and tell the boss that they're using AI. The boss hears AI and only knows AI as the chats he's had with a chatbot. So, when the boss tells the press that the org is using AI, the message sounds silly.
oh
I genuinely wonder if he understands what's actually happening. If his team is having a chat with Claude about who they should draft, that's obviously silly. But, if his team is using machine learning on large datasets to see if they can find an advantage, that wouldn't be so bad.
Good times!
Surely, we are not far off from the combo GLP-1 + Cannabis gummy.
Has any journalistic outlet published a longform deep dive into the corruption of Trump 2.0? I've read about single instances here and there, but, together, I think it would make for a powerful piece of investigative journalism.
These Catholic preschools want public money with private rules. They're invoking the Free Exercise Clause to demand taxpayer dollars, while invoking the same clause to avoid the anti‑discrimination rules that public schools must comply with.
And, yes, this SCOTUS will give them what they want.
I got zero of these. Please clap.
bold! (and probably smart)
I thought you work on Canvas, too
I suspect these will be carefully worded statements. Something about the importance of the work and doing the right thing even if the deadline has been extended.
Let's fucking go!!! #GoDuke
Let's fucking go!
BTW, ICYMI, late Friday afternoon, the federal government decided it was an academic conference and extended the deadline at the last minute.
No, I mean the one year extension that was published to the Federal Register late Friday.
www.federalregister.gov/public-inspe...
Well, to be fair, the extension was published to the Federal Register late Friday and it's only 9:30 a.m. on Monday.
Have any of you in higher education received any official communication from your institution about the extension for Title II compliance yet?
This is awesome
The scene in San Antonio is pretty incredible... #NBA
Exactly. I have been waiting for that pendulum to swing back for a long time...
