Just realized the 100 followers milestone passed me by while I was inactive, plus I've been wanting an excuse to practice drawing fantasy characters, so... read the guidelines, post your characters, and I'll doodle up a portrait of them! 👇

-I'll draw any kind of adjacent big monster fellow, orcs just happen to be my favorite *and* the most common from what I've seen!

Spent most of the day with family and I'm pretty tired right now but I had to get at least one in. Need to start learning to see volumes better.

Face studies. Four traced, one referenced.

Some tracing practice. Hips and full bodies. Turns out writing down what sticks out to you helps you memorize, who knew?

Like I said, I want to be consistent with these, but if they get too frequent I might create a feed or a tag so you can easily mute it.

Happy new year! Sorry I always forget to update over here. I'm at least making a resolution to be more diligent and mindful with my practice, so I will hopefully be keeping you updated with sketches over the course of the year. 🫡

Top left hat is definitely the gooniest, but the long braided beard is a bit too professional for that even though I love it. Bottom right beard is the best fit for what you're going for, IMO!

Drawing by sculpting crude shapes is something I gotta do more often tbh. It's a good reminder that there's no such thing as an unusable sketch, and that it's always possible to refine and polish it into something passable. 👍
