These are all great ideas Alex, I'll pass along to our team!
I have pretty strong feelings about this post and topic :) www.linkedin.com/feed/update/... An important read for those who care about diversity and sustainability in science in an increasingly apathetic world.
Thank you to @volkswagenstiftung.de , @nfdi4chem.de and @beilsteininstitut.hessen.social.ap.brid.gy for funding the InChI developments! The inorganics InChI will be a beta release in due course!

💎 Diamond is the new Green 🟢
New article from Romain Vaucher and Camille Thomas - Diamond is the new Green—Why Green Open Access is not a sustainable long-term model for scientific publishing
Published in Sedimentologika #DiamondOA #OpenAccess doi.org/10.57035/jou...
Manuscript checks are a time-consuming and oft overlooked aspect of the publication process [no reviewers do not "do all the work"...]. Automating these should reduce costs, but how good is the software? doi.org/10.1371/jour...
Was lässt daran ändern?
How do other fields "authenticate" - See art authentication - provenance, properties and professionals. Ppl copy what is valued and that's not the a bad thing. Scholarly authentication should be the same. @mcintold.bsky.social #R2R2026

After decades of debating the “scientific publishing crisis”, the time as come to decide.
This is an English translation of my original German contribution to the Merkur Blog in response to the contributions by Gehring and Tautz. “Scientific publishing” may sound like a minor rung in the ivory […]

There are thousands (and thousands) of high quality diamond OA journals. In fact, >14,000 according to @doaj.bsky.social doaj.org/search/journ... And there are a lot of people working towards ensuring these are scholar-led (i.e. decisions made by scholars not for-profit companies).
And since 2020 (when the article was written) ACS unfortunately has chosen to make Black lives harder. www.chemistryworld.com/news/under-l...
"Views expressed on this page are those of the author and not necessarily those of ACS." Not really. Here is the status of ACS's diversity programs: www.chemistryworld.com/news/under-l...
But the message from c&e is still highly welcome!

chemistry coloring books
one page from the coloring book
chemistry coloring books
chemistry coloring book in the lab
As some of you may know, I draw coloring books in my spare time for kids and adults. Last year, I did a series on Chemistry Nobel Prizes. ALL 117 of them :D
Now, for a series of very good reasons: F**k Amazon !!!
You can now buy them from Lulu bookstores: www.lulu.com/search?sortB...
So this "person" is related to this "publishing business" nistemr.com - they use throwaway Gmail accounts, but at least niresearchbts1@gmail.com and the domain @nistemr.com can be blocked
Apparently they've been at it for several years mjcce.org.mk/index.php/MJ...
Such a waste of time & resources..
A note to any editor/journal friends on here: a #papermill scammer, Bharathi Kannan, is looking to get rid of a load of articles. Shame on these scammers, who engage in and profit from #scientificmisconduct
