Time for an update! A couple changes to my Top 10 list of states I've visited the most breweries in. Colorado moves ahead of Florida to #6, and Iowa hops above Texas into 8th. It may still be just a bit, but I'd keep my eye on Illinois moving into the Top 3 at some point too.

Brewery 1417: Milieu Fermentation. Aurora, CO. Fav beer: Kia Ora (New Zealand Pilsner). WOW! When it comes to beer, this is one of my favorites I've been to. All three I had were incredible. Opened in '24 inside the former Ursula Brewing, they've rapidly become a neighborhood hub
Three weeks from today I will be up in Green Bay for a book event at Titletown Brewing! Come hang out, ask questions about my travel experiences, and enjoy some beers!
Need a gift for Father's Day? Order a copy of Flights Across America! And don't just take my word for it, check out some of these reviews 🍻

It's been a second since I posted an update of my Top 10 states for brewery visits! My recent trip to Houston vaulted The Lone Star State into the rankings for the first time, all the way up to #8! Washington now barely falls off the list, but could easily bounce back!
Brewery 1405: Elder Son Brewing. Houston, TX. Fav beer: Jake Ain't Scared IPA. I was very impressed with the beer here! The owner and brewery was the "eldest son" in his family, hence the name. And the lacrosse-themed beer names? His sons play the sport 🥍 #TXbeer
Brewery 1404: Baileson Brewing. Houston, TX. Fav beer: The Chosen Family Pils. Opened in 2017 in the Boulevard Oaks neighborhood, "Baileson" combines the names of owners' dogs, Bailey & Jameson. The old service station primarily utilizes outdoor space for seating #TXbeer
Brewery 1402: Tejas Brewery. Houston, TX. Fav beer: Tejas Clara Lager. What a view! If you're like me and enjoy a good skyline, then this is the spot for you! This stunning 3-story facility provides unparalleled sightlines of Houston. I looked out at the city for quite a while! 🌃
Brewery 1401: Holler Brewing. Houston, TX. Fav beer: Dollar Pils, Y'all (German Pilsner). Located northwest of downtown in the Washington Avenue art district, they opened in 2016. The owners homebrewed for several years prior to opening, and now make several popular beers for locals
Brewery 1400: Platypus Brewing. Houston, TX. Fav beer: Bobby Dazzler (Australian Blonde). I love Australia! And this brewery is all about the land down under! 🇦🇺🦘 The vibe, decor, food, and even beer names all go with the theme here. I devoured a sausage roll and meat pie 🍻
🚨BOOK EVENT🚨 I am finally bringing Flights Across America up to the Twin Cities! I will be at BlackStack Brewing on June 20th and cannot wait to meet lots of Minnesota beer lovers! Signed copies will be available, but come by for a chat even if you already have the book! 🍻
Brewery 1399: True Anomaly Brewing. Houston, TX. Fav beer: Vera (Blackberry Sour). The '23 & '24 Craft Brewers Cup Brewery of the Year, they're planning a move from East Downtown to the Second Ward! Owned by current and former NASA employees, they have some cool astronaut tap handles 👨🏼🚀
Brewery 1398: 8th Wonder Brewing. Houston, TX. Fav beer: Rocket Fuel (Vietnamese Coffee Porter). Another neat Houston spot! Named for the Astro Dome, the ceiling is designed in the same shape as the iconic stadium, and they have original seats from the dome. Also big on THC/spirits.
Brewery 1396: Saint Arnold Brewing. Houston, TX. Fav beer: Lawnmower (Kolsch). What a first stop in Houston! Founded in 1994, it's the oldest craft brewery in the state and now has an incredibly impressive venue! Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are stunning. Great beer as well! 🍻
Just hit my #1,400th brewery! I already enjoyed the food at Platypus Brewing, now time for some beer! Full post to come later 🍻
🚨BOOK EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT🚨
I will be at Ope! Brewing in West Allis next Friday evening! Come hang out and chat while enjoying some beer and Midwestern slang 🍻 There will also be live music starting at 7:30!
Brewery 1389: @liquidlovebrew. Buffalo Grove, IL. Fav beer: Cruda Vital (Mexican Lager w/michelada mix & lime juice). This was a fun stop! They provide patrons "beer that has heart", and there is certainly a variety of flavors available to test your palate. Intriguing sours too!
So District Brew Yards has two locations, the original in Chicago, and the one in Wheeling (which I visited). Four breweries under one roof is the theme here, as you can pour-your-own beer from Twisted Hippo, Burnt City Brewing, Around the Bend Beer Co, and Casa Humilde Cerveceria!
🚨HOUSTON🚨 I am finally crossing off one of the final US cities I haven't been to. I'll be coming down solo the last weekend in April for a true "Beercation"! As always, I'm up for recommendations and to hear what favorites everyone has 🍻
REMINDER! I will be at Sprecher Brewery tomorrow starting at 12pm. Come hang out, grab a beer, and chat with me about my book! 🍻

🚨BOOK EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT🚨 I will be in Menomonee Falls at Epilogue Books during the Menomonee Falls Pub Crawl! Bonus: If you can't make it in to see me, there will be copies of Flights Across America on sale there following the event!
Ya, some breweries definitely have a more intimate feeling than others. I've seen actual noise dampening panels used, while others have smaller spaces (or multiple rooms) that just lend them to being quieter
A return trip to Ohio is definitely needed! Only been to 16, not even a dent in the state! Although I have at least been to Cincinnati, Cleveland, Toledo, Dayton, and Youngstown. Wish it was a little closer!
🚨BOOK EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT🚨
I will be at @sprecherbrewery.bsky.social later this month! This historic brewery calls the same city I do home, and I'm thrilled to be spending an afternoon there to share my book with local beer lovers! Come out to chat and enjoy some beers! (And maybe buy a book 😅)

Brewery 1382: Is/Was Brewing. Chicago, IL. Fav beer: Tree Tipper (Saison w/honey & spruce tips). Saison fans, this is THE spot for you! Located in Ravenswood, this taproom opened last August, but they have been brewing for around 7 years. I'm a big fan! 🍻

Haven't posted an update on this for a while. The main change is Illinois bumping up to #4, supplanting Minnesota for the time being. The next update will feature a new state cracking the Top 10 👀
