After all, DK didn't become a different character after his recent redesign so the inverse of that could be true as well - that it could have been a different character despite looking identical.

I think it's a case where they just used whatever design they had. There's really been no good ingame look at young Cranky in any game that's not 8 bit. They would have had to redesign him which they maybe didn't want to do at the time.
It could just be an art style quirk.

That could still be Cranky Kong for all we know. It definetely was him in the GameBoy game that the MvDK series is a sequel to.
Sure there are Toads but that doesn't necessarily mean that the games need to take place after Cranky passed down the DK title.

Why can't you have colored eyes without pupils in Tomodachi Life? It's so annoying. Sure you can draw over them but it looks so weird when they close their eyes.
It's such a common style for cartoon character but the game won't let you replicate it.

I mean there are ways for same sex couples to have children. And with Yoshi's Island who knows how children are conceived in the Mario world anyways? It seems they really get delivered by storks from who knows where.

I also think that the Donkey Kong in Mario vs Donkey Kong is likely still young Cranky Kong. That is just personal interpretation but it makes the most sense to me to put the games there timeline-wise. At least at some point before Cranky dropped the DK title, which we don't know when that happened.

That's probably how Nintendo intended it but my autistic brain wants to make sense of it somehow. And if one of them had to be someone else I'd prefer it to be kid Pauline. Modern Pauline not being Lady would be too much of a retcon for my taste.

(I personally would prefer kid Pauline to be someone else which would mean the DK games take place some years after the "current day" in Mario games but with all the unexplained Babies it's super undefined anyways.

Like either kid Pauline is modern Pauline and Lady is someone else or Lady and modern Pauline are the same and kid Pauline is someone else. There's really no definitive say and the timeline is weird either way.

It certainly is odd but until it's clearly defined that Lady is a separate character I wouldn't say there's a retcon.

I don't think so. It's probably just a translation quirk. If you look at Smash Ultimate that's how the spirit is translated as well.

Not to mention how the hate on Hexed feels so forced. I saw rage over the image of the main characters and…it’s fine. There’s honestly nothing worth ranting about the designs. That level of negative bias needs to be checked.

I am not surprised that the Disney Hate has now reached a new low that they are straight-up harassing animators who worked on a movie that, at most, just recently only showed what the main chatacters look like and who they’re voiced by.
