I know youre a game dev, but a tip for web dev is to have a big diversity of browsers (or at least the big main 5) just for you to test the site between.

You never have to use them casually for anything other than testing. Each browser interprets very specific aspects of js and css differently.

Its the fallback. It should be the underlined font: "monospace". The browser uses that keyword to substitute your default monospace font in. Looking up and setting that font depends on the OS though
