I saw ‘Meet the Feebles’ in the theatre when it came out. The mgr of my Aussie small-town cinema declared it was too sick to charge full price. Of the 20-30 people who started the movie, only my buddy and I remained at the end. lol. Still love that movie.

I’m pretty sure I saw one of those in Honolulu last year. It’s in a private collection of antiques that gets opened to a car collector group occasionally. Maybe in Kaka’ako?

I’m the type of dude who would have absolutely done something that crazy, but honestly, the only route would have been for me to *live in it* based on my circumstances as a PA in the 90s.

Years later I would furnish my entire new home with another failed pilot, lol. The wastefulness of the business, (certainly in the 90s-00s) was insane.

The PM of that show became the PM of a series in NYC after the cancellation. He was my boss & the studio was spending a small fortune storing it, but the prod had spent loco $ making it and couldn’t bring themselves to trash it either, so it was looking for a good home.

I remember being offered the fish tank from that show when it was cancelled. It was larger than my whole apartment at the time.

Share an iconic horror film shot.

Seriously. This scene in #thechangeling has freaked me out for decades… #georgecscott

It snowed once on Easter when I was kid living in the Denver suburbs back in the ‘70s. Some local wag fashioned a giant bunny foot out of plywood and went around the neighborhood making Easter Bunny tracks :) Fifty years later, I still smile about it. Well played, mysterious stranger.

My wife and I had a private audience with Jonathan the Tortoise back in 2023. That double-centenarian was randy AF. Not surprised to hear the news of his death was a hoax. He’s got plenty left in the tank…

“Do I even have customers? More than you would expect.”

Such a brilliant show.

Too cool not to share. Today, my wife saw an adult #whale teaching a juvenile how to slap its tail just a little ways off shore. Filmed on the #bigisland #hawaii south of #hilo

I think this is one of the most underrated lines in the entire #tedlasso series. #roykent

I’ve been a fan since his role as Billy Cepeda on ‘Sirens’. He stole almost every episode and he’s the main reason we’re watching ‘Best Medicine’.

Ghostwriter was my first gig in the TV business and worked multiple departments incl. post-production, writers asst. & production. Great show, great people but still disappointed they quashed an ep on gun violence I sat in on.

I should know the answer to this but I don’t? Did any of Sir Hubert Wilkins films survive? If so, are you viewing them as part of your Aussie silents? Wilkins was arguably one of the 20th Century’s most fascinating humans & mostly a forgotten name now.

3/ (Seriously). During COVID, I bought Marx’s autobiography inscribed to Colin Higgins (H&M’s author). The purchase incl. a typewritten account by Higgins of a bonkers evening Higgins spent with Marx & Bud Cort. I can do it no justice here. Fair winds, Bud. I am who I am thanks in part to you.

2/ I’ve seen the movie 100s of times in the decades since, often in inexplicable locations under surreal circumstances. I’ve also collected a number of oddities related to the movie, including the single most insane piece of entertainment history I own. For a time, Bud was roommates w Groucho Marx

1/ Absolutely gutted by the passing of Bud Cort. ‘Harold & Maude’ is more than just a film to me. It is a sacred, existential text to me. I bizarrely saw it as a young child as a double feature with Willy Wonka. (Seriously. And this should provide some insight into my psyche)

Tremendous story. Thank you for sharing. After watching ‘The Eyes of Ghana’ in Nov, I realized just how little I knew about Ghana and its transition to independence. Personal stories like yours and Chris Hesse’s can connect the present with the past through powerful shared humanity. Kudos.

Dad will be devastated. Sonny was one of his heroes. I went to school w Sonny’s kid but failed to tell dad. Sonny held the door for him @ parent’s night my dad fanboyed, then came home, woke me up & cursed me out for not telling him the Jurgensens went there. #HTTR www.hogshaven.com/general/4005...

Not supposedly. The FJ Holden was and remains iconic in Australia. Also the name and subject of the cult 1977 film by Michael Thornhill.

WaPo was part of my NoVA childhood in 70s/80s. My grandf worked their presses. Took him 15 min nightly scrubbing w Lava soap getting ink off his hands. Only grade school ed. but read every word in every issue and was world knowledgeable as anyone. So sad to witness the ruination of it.
