The Green Party has launched its manifesto for the Oxford City Council elections, pledging to build a ‘fairer, greener and more equal city’. They say that the manifesto was written following thousands of doorstep conversations with voters and responds to the big issues that residents have raised.

UK universities need to ask themselves who they really serve and protect - war profiteers and genocide enablers, or their students fighting for peace?

This is why Labour's rhetoric around house building makes NO sense while the Right to Buy is in place.

3,800 households are on the wait list for social housing in Oxford. That would change if the council could keep hold of its social housing stock.

Delighted to have seconded two great motions which both passed at the City Council yesterday. @maxmorris.bsky.social's motion on "Making Oxford more walkable" and @katherinesmiles.bsky.social's motion on "City Centre playground." Looking forward to a better Oxford for kids.

Proud of Oxford City Greens last night at Oxford City Council for this motion - which was hugely supported. This is a first step (get it!?) towards a future Oxford which is more equal, healthy, accessible and happy.

Summing up, Cllr Max Morris: “This motion is about the whole city. This is for everybody. When we make our city more accessible for minority groups, we improve it for everybody.”

The motion to make Oxford a more walkable city is passed with a small number of votes against (not recorded, perhaps 3).
